Let's Do It Philippines - Negros Island & Western Visayas BE A VOLUNTEER
Let us all unite to clean the planet. It is our moral & social responsibility to cooperate, do our share to protect & preserve this earth.

How it Started? Let's Do It Philippines movement got its inspiration from where it all started in Estonia in 2008 and was first introduced in the Philippines through Clean Up the Philippines movement in 2012. Dann Diez the founder of Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities represented the Philippines in the Let’s do it American Conference 2012 in El Salvador. I In November 20

14, SEED4COM hosted the 2nd Let’s do it Asian Conference and for this year 2015 is the initiator and national convenor for the iam5million campaign for the September 20 cleanup day. In January 9-11 was the national boot camp to train regional leaders to start their own team, build partnerships and also conduct its own regional leadership camp. Objective of the Movement. . . The main objective of the campaign is to have 5 percent of the entire population who are living the zero waste lifestyle or with environmental conscience and this 5percent became infectious as we grow each year through our educational advocacy, manifested in our green actions and provides economical values to those who practice it but most of all fosters community based enterprise. Activities includes education and information campaign to support the RA 9003 national solid wastes act, waste mapping, establish ecology centers or Material Recovery Facilities and inventory of recyclers or junkshops, LGU and industry partners for the solid wastes collection for proper disposal and recycling/upcycling not just dumping all in the landfills. Why September 20? Sept 20 falls during the international coastal cleanup weekend, it is a Sunday and we hope to involve the entire family to do the cleanup. It is a day show to the rest of the world that we are united to clean the country and to keep it clean being the 3rd contributor for ocean debris in the world It’s not just a one day cleanup event since prior to September 20, the movement will be doing education and information campaign, waste mapping, identify and establish ecology centers (MRF), build partnerships and collaborate with LGUs for the proper collection and disposal of the solid wasted collected and be waste collected be converted to a resource to a higher value than just throwing all to landfills. Partners. . . Lets do it Philippines movement is partnering with DENR EMB NSWC, League of Cities of the Philippines, Greenpeace Philippines, GreenPH, EcoWaste Coalition, Philippine Dragon Boat Team, Provincial Governors and Mayors, Acadame and NGOs. We are hoping get everyone onboard since this call is for all to make our county clean and to reach our ambitious goal of 5million trash warriors. We are still looking for partners and support in kind and donations for the movement. How you can help? Be a volunteer to be part of the national and regional teams, host a cleanup event, or volunteer in the cleanup events.
