The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is Rotary’s ethical guide for making decisions in our personal, professional, and community lives. Created by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932, it has become one of Rotary’s most recognized principles.

Before we think, speak, or act, we ask:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

These four simple questions encourage honesty, fairness, respect, and service—values that define every Rotarian.

Rotary Club of Bacolod-South: Back-to-Back Club Meetings to Create a Lasting Impact Part 2

On July 11, 2026, the members of the Rotary Club of Bacolod-South convened once more at the Nature’s Village- Isabel Hall in Talisay City, to formally carve out its club strategic planning session and conduct a brief turn-over moment of club leadership from Immediate Past President Lourdes Faye S. Donguez to Incoming President Julie Ann Sia Esmeralda for the Rotary year 2026-2027.

Club members came in full force to support the opening salvo meeting of the club as it signals in the new theme of creating lasting impact to the various communities the club serves and provides assistance to RY 2026-2027 Club President Julie encouraged each one to take on an active role in the upcoming club projects and also presented her vision for the upcoming Rotary year.

A Rotary year starts every July 1 of each year and ends on June 30 of the following year.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod-South is best known for its signature projects such as the Cacao-raising project, the rug-making project, the plastics-recycling project, and the academic excellence contest project among private and public schools within Negros Occidental Province, among many other community programs.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod-South has also been the the lead mentor of the Rotary Community Corps situated at Don Bosco Parish, Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental since May of 2021.

The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. It reminds every Rotarian that true leadership is measured not only by success, but by service to others.

Rotary fulfills this through four objectives:

1. Develop friendships as an opportunity for service.

2. Promote high ethical standards in business and the professions, recognizing the value and dignity of every occupation.

3. Apply the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life.

4. Advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship among people of different cultures, professions, and backgrounds.

These four objectives continue to inspire Rotarians around the world to lead with integrity, build meaningful relationships, and create positive change in their communities.

These principles are designed to guide Rotarians in their personal and professional actions.

Rotary Club of Bacolod-South: Back-to-Back Club Meetings to Create a Lasting Impact Part 1

Last June 16, 2026, the members of the Rotary Club of Bacolod-South, of Rotary District 3850, the 57-year old Rotary Club met for the last time at O Hotel, to close the RY 2025-2026 and prepare for the 2026-2027 Rotary Year with the theme: Create a Lasting Impact. The projects implemented were reviewed and then outgoing Club President Lourdes Faye Donguez thanked everyone for their all-out solid support to the Club.

In the said meeting, a new set of officers was drawn, with particular emphasis on the new Rotarians, to prepare them for future leadership roles in the club. Logistics trucking providers- couple Ramil & Stephanie Estimar, Architect Richard Donguez, and Realtor Mir Sardua were each given key club officer roles for the upcoming Rotary year, while seasoned Rotarian

Ms. Julie Ann Sia Esmeralda was requested to take on the leadership helm of the Rotary Club of Bacolod-South (to replace supposedly Club Pres.-elect Mr. Christopher Fadriga who needed to avail of a health leave for the time-being).

Past President/Engr. Dario Salve Recuelo, meanwhile, was appointed by the District 3850 leadership, to be one of the Assistant Governors, for the Zone 7 clubs in Negros.
