𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.

As we officially open the 2nd Term for AY 2025–2026, the NU Bacolod NSTP Class kicked off with the celebration of the 𝑫𝒓𝒖𝒈 𝑨𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌, an advocacy that promotes safety, awareness, and responsibility among our young generation.

We were honored to have 𝐏𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐌. 𝐌𝐚-𝐀𝐩𝐧𝐢, 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐂𝐉, 𝐉𝐃, 𝐑𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦 , Assistant Chief of the City Operations Management Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office, as our resource speaker.

During his session, he underscored the growing challenges posed by drug and substance abuse, particularly among the youth, noting how curiosity, peer influence, social pressures, and misinformation make young people increasingly vulnerable.

PCPT Ma-Apni reminded our students that as Nation Builders, they hold a vital role in championing a culture of awareness and responsibility. He highlighted the importance of strong family support and parental guidance, along with the collective duty of every Filipino youth to help build a community that is safe, informed, and free from the harmful impacts of illegal drugs.

This initiative directly aligns with our commitment to global development, particularly the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

𝙉𝙐 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙋 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 & 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙨

A tragic fire on September 12, 2025, in Barangay 27, Bacolod City, has displaced 322 families or 984 individuals. In just a few minutes, homes and treasured belongings were lost, leaving many of our fellow Bacolodnons with nothing but the clothes they wore and the hope of starting again.

Guided by this spirit, the group students of PSY251 conducted a 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖-𝙏𝙖𝙤 (𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 for 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚) outreach activity with the children of 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙉𝙞ñ𝙤 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙊𝙧𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙧𝙜𝙮. 𝙏𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮. The goal of this activity was to help nurture the children’s sense of 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮—educating them to embrace values of compassion, empathy, and respect, and preparing them to become good citizens and future builders of our nation.

The program began with a prayer and welcome remarks, followed by an icebreaker to build energy and connection. The group then facilitated storytelling, dynamic group activities, and fun games that encouraged participation and joy. To cap the day, the children enjoyed a cartoon video, shared snacks, and received certificates of participation—while the orphanage was also recognized with a certificate of appreciation for their kindness and cooperation.

By living out the NSTP Core Value of being Maka-Tao, 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝘽𝘼𝙏𝘼 showed that service is rooted in compassion, empathy, and community building. This activity aligns with the 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨:

With the goal of nurturing compassion and responsibility among the youth, the 3𝙋’𝙨 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥 of BS Political Science (POL251) carried out a 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖-𝙏𝙖𝙤 (𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚) activity with the children as their partner community in Brgy. Alicante, E.B Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Through engaging reading and writing sessions, the group aimed to strengthen literacy while instilling compassion, empathy, and respect; values that are essential in shaping the youth as future builders of our nation.

By living out the NSTP Core Value of being Maka-Tao, the 3P’s Group embodied what it means to be good citizens—uplifting others through knowledge, care, and humanity. This activity aligns with the 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨:

As part of their commitment under the 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 (𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙋), the NSTP Student 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙙 (𝙑𝘽𝙎) of PSY251 conducted a 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖-𝘿𝙞𝙮𝙤𝙨 (𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙂𝙤𝙙) outreach activity with the children of their partner community in Brgy. Sampinit, Purok Kamayan.

Through stories, songs, and value-based activities, the group aimed to nurture faith, instill hope, and inspire the younger generation to recognize the goodness of God in their daily lives.

By living out the NSTP Core Value of being Maka-Diyos, the VBS of PSY251 embody what it means to be good citizens of our country—grounded in faith, compassion, and service.

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: NSTP Completion Ceremony

To all College Students:

As mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the issuance of NSTP Serial Numbers is a vital requirement for all students who have completed the National Service Training Program (NSTP). Please be informed that:

🔹 Certificate of Completion will not be released to any student who has not fulfilled the NSTP requirements, including the issuance of the serial number.
🔹 As part of your NSTP requirements, attendance to the NSTP Completion Ceremony is mandatory.

This ceremony serves as the formal venue for the issuance of NSTP Serial Numbers.

📅 Date: June 21, 2025
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM
📍 Venue: NU Bacolod Campus

All NSTP completers are required to attend. Please take this seriously, as non-attendance may affect your academic records.
