On April 7, 2026, in Himamaylan City, stakeholders formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the BRIDGE-Ed Himamaylan Program at Annabelleโs Secret Garden. Implemented in partnership with the Agubay Child Protection Alliance in Negros, the initiative advances a coordinated effort to protect children, prevent abuse and exploitation, and ensure access to safe, inclusive, and quality education.
On behalf of Mayor Raymund I. Tongson, Atty. Sarah Villamor joined key partners from the Schools Division of Himamaylan, led by SDS Maโam Lynee A. Peรฑaflor, PhD, together with ASDS Sir Eiggy Yap, Atty. Epi Ma. Kassandra Dajao, Maโam Marilyn Galvez, division section heads, and 11 school heads from identified barangays set to benefit from the program.
Also present were members of the Local School Board and partner stakeholders, including CSWDO Maโam Egie Castro; Sangguniang Panlungsod members Hon. Teresita Gamposila (Education Committee Chairperson), Hon. Kerwin Tongson (ABC President), and Hon. Jedalyn Kaye Pampliega (SK Federation President); City Treasurer Maโam Caroline Castro; along with Punong Barangays Hon. Rolando P. Ginlo and Hon. Joemari Nunay, and representatives from Talaban, San Antonio, Saraet, Mambagaton, Aguisan, IVโPoblacion, and IIIโPoblacion.
As Bakyas Community Development Center Inc., one with the Agubay Child Protection Alliance as implementers, we reaffirm our commitment to bridging gaps in education while strengthening child protection mechanisms at the community levelโthrough awareness, capacity-building, and collaborative action among families, schools, and local governments. These efforts are vital in creating safer environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive free from harm.
