# 🌿 GSP ALUMNI SERIES #4: Leadership That Begins with Service
**“Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout.”**
Meet **Lexie Nicole Apoyon**, a proud **USLS Chief Girl Scout Medalist from the House of Murray, Batch 2017**.
For Lexie, Girl Scouting was never simply about earning badges or receiving a medal. It was where she learned that **leadership begins with service—and that meaningful service can leave a lasting mark on a community.**
Her GSP journey was shaped by four things:
🌿 **Heritage** — stepping into the legacy of excellence and service that came before her.
💚 **Character** — carrying with her the values of **Lasallian faith and zeal**, integrity, and responsibility.
🔥 **Grit** — learning to turn challenges into solutions and to serve with courage and determination.
🤝 **Community** — discovering that GSP creates more than memories; it builds a **lifelong support system** grounded in friendship, service, and shared purpose.
In **2016**, Lexie served her community through her **Chief Girl Scout project**. Years later, in **2026**, she found herself serving the very same community again—this time as a **Chairperson**.
That full-circle moment says something powerful:
**The service we begin as young people can become the foundation for the leaders we become.**
GSP taught Lexie to create real-world impact, implement sustainable change, and put community at the heart of leadership—long before she entered public office.
