ICYMI: The ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter proudly held its Induction Ceremony last February 25, 2026, welcoming the newly elected officers who will continue the chapter’s mission of upholding excellence and integrity in the accountancy profession.

Chapter Past President Ms. Myrna L. Desabelle shared a heartfelt message, recalling the founding of the chapter and offering words of encouragement to the new officers. Outgoing Chapter President Mr. Jerry Bantilan, Jr. delivered his valedictory address, while ACPAPP National President Mr. Cesar Faustino R. Ravalo, Jr. formally inducted the new set of officers. Incoming Chapter President Ms. Eba May Desabelle expressed her gratitude and vision in her acceptance speech. The ceremony was also graced by ACPAPP National Liaison Director on Media Affairs and Website Development, Ms. Wilma I. Miranda.

In partnership with ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter, representatives from BIR RDO No. 77 Bacolod conducted a seminar on February 25, 2026 at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City.

The second session to the seminar provided attendees with annual tax filing reminders, updates on the Bureau’s latest regulations and the nationwide tax campaign. The discussion included various topics such as the VAT on Digital Services Law, CREATE MORE and the Capital Markets Efficiency Promotion Act (CMEPA), other updates such as the use of the eAFS for the submission of the Audited Financial Statements, Income Tax Return, and other attachments were also discussed.

The session was led by keynote speakers Atty. Donna Lerma Janica Paco‑Velasco and Ms. Jergen Nicole Amechazzura, with ACPAPP Past President Ms. Lorena Losanes introducing the speakers.

In partnership with ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter, representatives from the SEC Bacolod Extension Office conducted a seminar on February 25, 2026 at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City.

The attendees were introduced to the Commission’s new HARBOR system for beneficial ownership reporting and the latest SEC memorandums and updates. Part of the updates that were discussed were the annual deadline for the 2025 Audited Financial Statements, the new audit thresholds and guidelines, GIS updates, OPC compliances updates, and the new SEC systems.

The session was led by keynote speaker Ms. Maria Laarni D. King, together with Ms. Carla Maria R. Perez and Mr. Abelardo B. Panganiban, Jr., with outgoing Chapter President Mr. Jerry Bantilan, Jr. presenting the speakers.

ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter officers paid a courtesy visit to the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Negros Island Region, headed by Regional Director Mr. Augusto Salvador Balles today.

The meeting strengthened ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter's partnership with the CDA and opened discussions on future collaborative initiatives, including the possible conduct of accounting clinics for small and micro cooperatives across the Negros Island Region.

King, SEC Information Officer II from the SEC – Bacolod Extension Office, will discuss the new SEC HARBOR (Hierarchical and Applicable Relations and Beneficial Ownership Registry) — a web-based platform launched in 2026 for the mandatory and secure submission of corporate beneficial ownership disclosures. This system replaces the old Beneficial Ownership (BO) page in the General Information Sheet (GIS).

ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have embarked on a new partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to advance financial literacy and investor education among the public with its Communication Advocacy Network Initiative (SEC CAN).

The MOA was signed during a courtesy call made by the officers of ACPAPP Negros Occidental Chapter led by Chapter President Ms. Eba May Desabelle together with SEC Bacolod Extension Office Director Atty. Annabelle Corral-Respall.
