Before winning tournaments and chasing the dream of turning pro, John Rey Oro was a young boy in Bacolod doing whatever he could to help his family survive. ⛳
As the seventh of 14 siblings, life taught him early that dreams come second when family depends on you.
From working as a caddie and pulot boy, playing with mismatched clubs, and learning the game through pure instinct, John Rey’s journey has never been easy — but every step forward carries a purpose bigger than himself.
Recently crowned champion of the inaugural JGFP College Series, he continues to rise while carrying the values that shaped him from day one.
His story is not just about golf.
It’s about sacrifice, responsibility, and proving that sometimes the biggest dreams come from the humblest beginnings.
