The Rotary Club of Bacolod Central joins the world in honoring our teachers—true People of Action who inspire young minds, nurture character, and build stronger communities through education.

Through their Service Above Self, teachers create ripples of positive change that reach generations.

To our teachers: thank you for inspiring, serving, and creating lasting impact—one learner, one life, and one community at a time.

In this message shared last year, Bill Gates speaks about a fight that remains just as relevant today.

For decades, 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 and the Gates Foundation have stood with Rotary and our global partners in the fight to end polio.

The world has made extraordinary progress but the last stretch matters.

Listen to why we must finish what we started.

Over the years, our NewGen activities have brought young people together in different spaces around Bacolod. For 2026, we’ve marked our camp base: NU Bacolod! 🚩

Home to a growing community of young Nationalians, NU Bacolod opens its doors to our campers. We have a campus to explore, new connections to make, and plenty of to discover along the way.

📚 A little corner. A lot of possibilities.

The plans are in! Our 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 for 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 took an important step forward with the formal turnover of its design on October 1.

What started as a Rotary literacy project grew through connections and a shared purpose. With Pres. Ar Roberto T. Aguillon and past president Ar Rolem Lobaton Basiya, both architects and members of the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗨𝗔𝗣) – 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿, the project found a natural partner in the chapter led by 𝗔𝗿. 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲. Architecture students from NU Bacolod, through the 𝗨𝗔𝗣 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘅𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿𝘆 (𝗨𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗔-𝗡𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱), are joining the collaboration as well.

𝗔𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶, UAP-Bacolod Azucar’s project chair for the Book Nook, walked everyone through the design for a welcoming space where students can pick up a book, stay awhile, and enjoy reading.

The design will also give new life to upcycled materials... but we’ll save more of that story for when the Book Nook comes to life. ♻️📚

Expected completion: 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. We can’t wait to see it! 💙

💙 A few moments from our latest regular club meeting.

🏆 A little recognition: District Public Image Chair Toks Lopez formally turned over to Pres. Ar Roberto T. Aguillon our recognition as a finalist for Best Rotary Hymn Video at the recent Zone 10A Public Image Awards.

🌎 And a Rotary connection from across the Pacific: PDG Mate Espina presented the club banner she received during her recent visit to the Rotary Club of Palos Verdes Peninsula, California. Our own RC Bacolod Central banner will soon be making the trip back their way. 😉

Plus the usual updates, planning, dinner, and fellowship that keep the club moving.

Just another night at RC Bacolod Central. 💙

🇵🇭 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Incoming Rotary district leaders from across the Philippines gathered last September 26 for the Governors-Elect Learning Seminar (GELS) and Governors-Nominee Learning Seminar (GNLS).

Among the experienced Rotary leaders contributing to the learning were two of our own: Past District Governor Mate Espina, now at the helm of the Philippine College of Rotary Governors (PCRG), which brings together Past District Governors from across the country; and Past District Governor Jundad Legislador, a longtime mentor, trainer, and resource speaker for Rotary leaders.

And while they continue to share their experience beyond the club, we’re fortunate to have that same wisdom and perspective helping guide RC Bacolod Central and our own emerging leaders.

The future is looking bright for the organization we love. 💙

📚 Sometimes, it really does start with a book.

As Rotary’s Basic Education and Literacy Month winds down, here’s a simple story worth sharing. 💙

Sometimes, making a difference starts with a book 📚
In Annapolis, Maryland, USA, Rotary members are teaming up with local partners to make books more accessible to children and families.
