DYA Filipinas

DYA Filipinas Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and Humanitarian Organization. Détente Y Ayuda Filipinas Inc. PCGA, Capt. Mario P. Jocson, PCGA and Capt. Martin L. Ramon, PCGA.

(Stop and Help in English ) formerly known as DYA Bacolod Philippines Inc. / DYA Recoletos is the Philippine Delegation of DYA (Détente Y Ayuda) originally founded in 1966 in Bizkaia Spain by Dr.Juan Antonio Usparitza Lecumberri. In its beginnings it was created for two fundamental reasons:

1- Increasing disinterest of drivers to help in cases of accident or breakdown.
2- The absence of any ambu

lance service that is responsible for attending or moving in a regulated, methodical, safe, and effective manner to the victims of an accident. The Missionary Order of the Augustinian Recollects spearheaded by Father Antonio Palacios, OAR, and Josė Manuel Gonzalez Duenas, OAR, paved the way for this international Non-Profit organization to continue its mission to the society with the help of Rear Admiral Vicente L Ramon Sr. In 1996, DYA Bacolod Philippines emergency medical service started its first operation DYA is a non-stock, nonprofit, humanitarian organization set up by dedicated volunteers that help during Emergencies including but not limited to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Disaster Relief, and Rescue Operations. DYA Filipinas Inc. has been operating with modest means in the recent years, showing its dedication and eagerness to serve the people and the community needing emergency medical response together with its volunteers who were trained as Emergency Medical Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, and are National Competency (NC) II certified by TESDA. In 2022, the DYA established the DYA Cebu delegation with volunteers from the University of San Jose –Recoletos (USJ-R). Our Mission - "Stop and Help" Primarily to apply the principles of good Samaritan to save lives in cases of emergency thru timely response and excellent pre-hospital care, moreover to provide a high standard of Emergency Medical Services through education and training. Finally, advocate for our community in humanitarian services. DYA has extended its arm to different groups and institutions in Bacolod City and Cities / Municipalities in the Province of Negros Occidental through education, training, and other related services still maintaining the spirit of pure volunteerism which is the unique trait of DYA and one which sets it apart from other similar institutions. DYA is not just an organization but, a family of people that works together in the spirit of volunteerism inspired by the parable of a Good Samaritan who stopped and helped, so the name Detente Y Ayuda!

HANDS-ONLY CPR LECTURE-DEMO

The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos Medical Technologist students actively participated in a Basic Life Support (BLS) Hands-Only CPR Lecture-Demo, equipping them with essential life-saving skills.

The session focused on the importance of immediate response during cardiac emergencies, highlighting that early and effective chest compressions can significantly increase survival rates. Through hands-on demonstration and guided practice, participants gained confidence in performing Hands-Only CPR, a simple yet powerful intervention that anyone can do.

Because in an emergency, every second counts, and every trained hand can save a life.
