The Palisades
" The Way Life Should Be"
The Palisades is an innovation in residential development through its landscaping features. The entire development is landscaped which includes not just its entrance, the rotundas, clubhouse areas but also the sidewalks, street corners, lamp posts and power posts. Different tropical plants, trees and shrubs are utilized to give the place a distinct look an
d ambiance, not only during the day but also at night because of the play between the lightings and the plants. The landscaping design and architectural plan both the ‘soft’ and the “hard” of it, are executed by Architect Ildefonso P. This exclusive residential enclave has the general theme of Southern Californian accented strongly by Mexican Architecture. It has an innovative approach that greets all residents and visitors to a wide rotundas landscaped to create immediately the ambiance of lushness and tropical plants. The main road is broken by another rotunda to also create an ambiance of a garden. All streets are lined with flowering trees, different tree for every street to give it a sense of direction and color. Even the street corners are embedded with various plants to mark each street corner through colors and looks of the plants. The open space of the development is generous at no less than forty eight percent (48%) to allow the atmosphere of space and openness. The abundance of flowering plants and trees is to make the place a natural haven for birds, butterflies and other colorful species. It ensures that the situation of real ‘nature’ is created and sustained in the community. The project is relatively small in size that it creates ‘enclave’ living where people will live knowing each other yet retaining their respective privacies.
