The Welcome Home Foundation, Inc.

(WHFI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization serving the deaf people of the Philippines. With facilities in the Visayas and Mindanao, we are supporting our deaf brothers and sisters in three main ways: education, ministry, and outreach. We are on the forefront of education during the national transition to Filipino Sign Language (FSL); not only helping the deaf become skilled workers and

students, but also assisting in the development of a stronger community and culture that the Filipino deaf can call their own. While the deaf hear less, they do more... and so we welcome them into our hearts, and our home.

On Sunday, we remembered Ma'am Salving and the legacy she left! We celebrated the journey of Welcome Home Foundation with family, friends, staff, students, and long-term supporters. We stay grounded in our vision and remain thankful for the compassion and love Ma'am Salving showed us.

As part of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, staff and volunteers were invited to the City of Sipalay to deliver capacity-building training.

Staff facilitated a workshop om basic GEDSI- responsive Disaster Risk Reduction and Managememt for front-line responders, SPED teachers and community workers. The session covered barriers faced by people worh disabilities during emergencies, introduced basic Filipino Sign Language, and explored practical communication strategies.
