“Kaya mo? Siyempre, kaya ko!”
It is not just a week of celebration 🎉⭐, it is a milestone that reflects how far we have come in recognising the talents, skills, and capabilities of persons with disabilities.
Their stories of perseverance remind us that disability does not hinder potential, and that with equal opportunities, determination, and support, nothing can stop them from pursuing their dreams.
From July 17 to 23, the Philippines holds a nationwide commemoration known as “National Disability Rights Week,” promoting the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) by fostering full participation and empowerment in all aspects of society.
In Bacolod City, the City Government, through the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), in partnership with the Bacolod Integration Federation of PWD Associations, Inc. (BIFPA), organizes various programs to commemorate the occasion, including the Paralympics and other scheduled activities. ⤷
