Si San Isidro Labrador ay isang simpleng magsasaka sa Madrid, Spain na kilala sa matinding pananampalataya at kabutihang loob. Kilala siya bilang patron saint ng mga magsasaka at mga taong nasa bukid.

Sinasabi sa mga kuwento na habang siya ay nagdadasal o nagsisimba, may mga anghel na tumutulong sa kanyang bukid para matapos ang trabaho niya.

Ipinagdiriwang ang kanyang kapistahan tuwing Mayo 15, kung saan karaniwang may prusisyon, misa, at pagpapabasbas ng mga pananim at hayop bilang pasasalamat sa magandang ani. Sa Pilipinas, bahagi rin ito ng tradisyon sa mga agricultural towns.

HAPPY FEAST DAY, ST. ISIDORE THE FARMER 🌾

Today, we honor Saint Isidore the Farmer, patron saint of farmers, peasants, agricultural workers, and the people of Madrid.

Saint Isidore lived a humble and simple life, yet he showed the world that holiness can be found in ordinary work when it is offered to God with love and faith. His deep devotion to the Holy Mass inspired him to rise early each day so he could attend Mass before beginning his labor in the fields.

May his example remind us that God must always come first in our lives. Like Saint Isidore, may we learn to unite our daily work, sacrifices, and responsibilities with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

PRAYER

Good Saint Isidore, teach us to love the Holy Eucharist with sincere devotion. Help us to recognize the beauty and grace of the Holy Mass, where Christ becomes truly present among us — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

May we faithfully offer to God all our work, struggles, and sacrifices, uniting them with Christ upon the altar. Bless all farmers, laborers, and those who work tirelessly to provide for their families and communities.

Pray for us, that through a life of humble service and faithful prayer, we may one day share with you the joy of eternal life in heaven.
