The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers ( PSME) - Negros Occidental Chapter Congratulates our very own ENGR. GLORYBELLE YANSON GALINEA, PME, chapter Immediate Past President on her Recognition as one of the 2026 INSPIRING FILIPINA ENGINEER Award.

The award was conferred by the Philippine Technological Council - Women Engineers Network during the 20th International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists on August 4-6, 2026 at Royce Hotel and Casino, Clark Freeport and Economic Zone, Philippines.

This recognition is a testament of your dedication, professional excellence, outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment. May this another milestone of your career inspire you to continue making significant contributions to the Mechanical Engineering profession.

CHAPTER SPORTSFEST 2026!

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers - Negros Occidental Chapter held its annual Sportsfest last July 19, 2026 at UNO-R grounds and Lopues East Bowling Center which was attended by more than 200 participants coming from the nine (9) participating teams composed of Bacolod Unit, BISCOM, Hawaiian Philippine Company, North Negros Biopower, Sagay Central Inc., San Miguel Brewery Inc., URC- La Carlota, URC-Sonedco and TUP-V.

The Sportsfest concluded on a high note with an exciting line up of exciting events and memorable awarding ceremony that celebrated the participants hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship. BACOLOD Unit bagged the Over-all Championship followed by TUP-V Unit for the first-runner up and HPCO Unit as the second runner-up. MR. SPORTSFEST 2026 added glitter and endless laughter during the awarding ceremonies with the contestant from URC-Sonedco bringing home the title and cash prize.

The various events served more than just a competition - it strengthened camaraderie and fostered unity among the participating units of the chapter. The success of this year's Sportsfest was made possible through the hard work of the organizing committees headed by Chapter President, Engr. Noel V. Avelino and the Sportsfest Over-all Chairmen, Engr. Cedrik U. Severino, Engr. Ed Jason B. Dahili and all the events chairmen.

This year's Sportsfest ended with smiles, shared victories and lasting memories leaving everyone inspired and looking forward to the next year's Sportsfest.

📍PSME -NEGROS OCCIDENTAL CHAPTER JOINS BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026

As part of its Community Involvement project, PSME-Negros Occidental Chapter actively joined the Brigada Eskwela at
V. Cauntoy Elementary School in Barangay Dulao, Bago City last June 6,.2026 with the theme: " Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa kaayusan at kaalaman".

This yearly activity gives an opportunity for the chapter members to contribute resources, time, effort and skills in making a clean, safe and conducive learning environment for students and teachers.

Chapter officers and members led by the incumbent President, Engr. Noel V. Avelino, the committee on Community Involvement chaired by Engr. Dennis G. Quivis and Engr. Mark Anthony Tomayao together with the UNO-R JPSME officers, Ladies Circle and UNO-R Unit worked together in painting two classrooms and school facilities. The chapter also donated galloons of paints and brushes.
