The National Housing Authority (NHA) Negros Occidental District Office successfully held activities to celebrate its 51st Anniversary on July 27-30, 2026.
Each day of the celebration was meaningful, featuring various activities organized by the office in collaboration with selected Homeowners Associations.
The celebration kicked off with a motorcade during the opening ceremony, alongside with free wellness services for NHA NODO employees—such as free eyeglasses, blood sugar and blood pressure testing (courtesy of the Lions Club Bacolod City Anchor), massages, nail services, haircuts, and acupuncture. Traditional Filipino games or Larong Pinoy, participated in by all employees, were also held on the first day.
To support environmental protection, sports, and health programs, NHA NODO conducted tree-planting activities at Masskara Village in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City, and a clean-up drive within the vicinity of Pahanocoy Sites & Services. Moreover, to nurture rapport and harmony with the Homeowners Associations, a friendly basketball tournament was held on the third day, along with bowling, and Zumba sessions. These events were held in partnership with the Pahanocoy Village Homeowners Association, Inc.; Ciudad Felisa AFP/PNP Housing Homeowners’ Association, Inc.; PVSC Dolphins Basketball Team; Philippine Coast Guard Western Visayas Basketball Team; and the communities of Sum-ag and Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City. These activities demonstrated that the NHA provides more than just housing but also caring for and giving back to the environment are agency priorities. Employees also joined in a Zumba dance session and bowling activity to foster camaraderie, unity, and physical and mental well-being.
A highlight of the celebration was the "Mr. & Ms. NHA Negros Occidental District Office 2026" pageant, where representatives from each unit showcased their talents and demonstrated their mastery during the question-and-answer portion. The Technical Unit achieved success, as their participant won and will compete in the upcoming inter-agency competition.
