๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. Serving as the official entry of the University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos (UNO-R) Senior High School, the short film "Gugma sa Balud" clinched six minor accolades during the awarding ceremony of the 2025 Negros Island Film Festival Inter-School Category held at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol Social Hall today, June 20.
The highly acclaimed film was directed by Gale Adelyn U. Elisan, a distinguished alumna of the UNO-R Senior High School Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand.
Securing a dominant technical sweep for the production, UNO-R Bachelor of Arts in Communication college student Khyle Anasta captured a total of four creative titles, namely Best in Sound Design, Best in Editing, Best in Cinematography, and Best Musical Score.
Furthermore, the musical duo of Jivo Moral and Ericka Docto won the Best Original Song award for their localized composition written entirely in the Hiligaynon language.
Rounding out the list of major structural victories for the multi-departmental production crew, actress Jing Torrecampo took home the competitive title of Best Supporting Actress.
Aside from its major trophies, the collaborative campus entry also secured official festival nominations for Best Screenplay by Gale Adelyn Elisan and Lianne Arevalo, Best Actress for Lexene Salas, Best Director for Elisan, and the prestigious Best Picture slot.
Through this cross-departmental artistic milestone, the Augustinian value of Community was brilliantly manifested as high school alumni and college students merged their specialized talents to bring institutional pride, reflecting deep purpose-driven creativity through their collective cinematic craft.
