HOPE CAME KNOCKING: An unexpected blessing at the Open Day Center
In recent days, things have been especially overwhelming at the Open Day Center. In the midst of uncertainty and challenges that feel bigger than us, the team gathered with the children for a simple community prayer to pause, reflect, and lift up our fears and hopes together.
Not long after, something unexpected happened. A van arrived at the center, carrying bags of food donations. The timing could not have been more perfect.
The children watched in amazement, witnessing an answered prayer unfolding right before them. It was a quiet yet powerful moment, one that reminded all of us of the meaning of this Lenten season: to trust, to reflect, and to hold on to hope.
Even if the challenges are not yet fully overcome, this moment reminded us that grace will always find its way.
Our gratitude to Bacolod City DSSD for the donation. The blessings you have shared could not have come at a better time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
--The Open Day Center (ODC) in Bacolod City is one of Virlanie FAITH's two major projects. Through the ODC, we provide support and opportunities for marginalized and at-risk children and youth. We run three main programs here: the Independent Living Program (ILP), where we equip young adults with essential life skills to help them transition into self-sufficiency; the Education Program, where we offer learning opportunities such as the Alternative Learning System (ALS) so that out-of-school youth can continue their studies; and Basic Services, where we provide case management and medical support not only to our beneficiaries but also to the community.--
