🕯️ FAITH SHINES EVEN IN THE DARKNESS | FIRST DAY OF NOVENA

Not even a blackout could stop the RHFI family from praying together.

This evening, August 10, 2026, RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. formally began its nine-day Novena in honor of St. Ezekiel Moreno with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6:00 PM.

The First Day Novena Mass was presided over by Fr. Leonardo Pauligue, OAR, Local Prior of the University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R), and was attended by members of the RHFI family—beneficiaries, children, staff, volunteers, and friends.

In the middle of the celebration, an unexpected power interruption plunged the chapel into darkness. Yet the Mass continued. The temporary absence of electricity became, in its own simple way, a beautiful reminder that faith does not depend on the lights being on. When Christ gathers His people around the Eucharist, His light is enough.

Appropriately, our first-day theme was “Called to Be One Family in Christ,” inspired by Galatians 3:28: “You are all one in Christ Jesus.” Even in the darkness, the RHFI family remained together—in prayer, in faith, and in communion.

As we begin these nine days, we entrust especially to the intercession of St. Ezekiel Moreno all those who are sick, particularly the sick members of our community and all families accompanying loved ones through illness.

May this Novena become a journey of healing, hope, gratitude, and renewed faith for everyone.

Tomorrow, we continue our journey. May more families and friends come and pray with us as one family and one mission.

🌱 A Birthday Blessing Shared with RHFI Children 🎂❤️

On August 8, 2026, 40 children gathered at the RHFI Activity Center for a joyful feeding and “Doodle Earth” drawing activity, assisted by our ARCORES International volunteers from Spain, who are spending a month in the Philippines for their exposure and immersion.

The food was made possible through a generous ₱5,000 donation from Mel and Net Catalma, our active parishioners and friends from Saipan, CNMI, in thanksgiving for Net’s birthday. 🙏

Through “Kaarawan Mo, Kalusugan Ko,” a birthday becomes more than a celebration—it becomes an opportunity to nourish a child, share happiness, and give back. 💚

This is only the first activity made possible by their generosity. More sharing is coming soon!

FREE MEDICAL MISSION BRINGS HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO THE RHFI COMMUNITY

BACOLOD CITY | July 5, 2026 — A Free Medical Mission is currently underway at the St. Ezekiel Moreno Health Center, serving 100 children and 100 adults from the RESOURCE-Handumanan community and nearby areas.

The medical mission is generously sponsored by the Ma. Teresa Charity Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with ARCORES Filipinas Foundation, Inc., and facilitated by the Servants of Mary (Siervas de María) and the RESOURCE-Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI).

The Ma. Teresa Charity Foundation, Inc. generously provided all the medicines for the medical mission, as well as food for the children and meals for the staff and volunteers serving throughout the activity. Their generous support has made it possible not only to provide medical care but also to create an atmosphere of compassion, hospitality, and concern for every person present.

The mission is further strengthened by the generous service of five volunteer doctors, two nurses, and two pharmacists, who offered their time, professional expertise, and compassionate care to the community. Together with the Sisters, RHFI personnel, and other volunteers, they are providing free medical consultations, health assessments, and essential medicines to the beneficiaries.

This collaborative mission reflects a shared commitment to bring basic healthcare closer to families, especially those with limited access to medical services. More than providing consultations and medicines, today’s activity is a concrete expression of compassion, solidarity, and respect for the dignity and well-being of every person.

The RESOURCE-Handumanan Foundation, Inc. and ARCORES Filipinas Foundation, Inc. express their profound gratitude to the Ma. BUILDING SAFER HOMES: RHFI AND ARCORES FILIPINAS CONDUCT FAMILY LAWS AND VAWC AWARENESS SEMINAR

RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI), in partnership with ARCORES Filipinas, successfully conducted the seminar “Building Safer Homes: Family Laws and VAWC Awareness” on May 26, 2026, at the RESOURCE Multipurpose Hall.

The activity gathered 17 participants from the community and was facilitated by dedicated College of Law students from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) as part of their Clinical Legal Education Program. The seminar served as an important avenue for legal education and community empowerment, equipping participants with valuable knowledge about family rights, responsibilities, and the legal protections available to vulnerable members of society.

The discussion focused on key provisions of Philippine family laws and the Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the importance of fostering healthy, respectful, and supportive family relationships. Participants were introduced to the various forms of violence that women and children may experience, including physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and economic abuse.

The law students also provided practical guidance on recognizing the warning signs of abuse, understanding its impact on individuals and families, and knowing the proper steps to seek assistance and protection. Information regarding available legal remedies and support systems was shared, including services offered by social workers, law enforcement agencies, local government units, and community-based organizations.

More than a legal orientation, the seminar emphasized the collective responsibility of families and communities in preventing violence, promoting respect and equality, and creating environments where every person can live with dignity and security. Through increased awareness and education, participants were encouraged to become advocates for safer homes and stronger family relationships within their communities.

RHFI and ARCORES Filipinas express their sincere gratitude to the UNO-R College of Law, its faculty, and student volunteers for sharing their time, expertise, and commitment to community service. Their contribution reflects the spirit of compassion, justice, and empowerment that helps transform lives and strengthen communities.

❤️ SERVANT OF MARY CLINIC – ST. EZEKIEL MORENO MEDICAL MISSION & OPERATION TULI

The Servant of Mary Clinic, through the St. Ezekiel Moreno Medical Mission and Operation Tuli Program, successfully conducted two days of community outreach on May 24 and May 31, 2026, bringing compassionate healthcare services to children and families in the community.

With the generous service of volunteer doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, and the dedicated sisters of the Servas de Maria, the mission was able to provide free circumcision (Operation Tuli) to 200 children, helping improve their health, hygiene, and overall well-being.

Beyond the medical procedures, the activity became a concrete expression of Christian charity and solidarity. Families gathered in hope, volunteers offered their time and expertise, and countless young beneficiaries experienced firsthand the love and care of a community united in service.

This initiative reflects the mission of the Servant of Mary Clinic and the spirit of St. Ezekiel Moreno—to make quality healthcare accessible, especially to those who have less in life. Every consultation, every medicine distributed, and every child served became a reminder that genuine service transforms lives and strengthens communities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all volunteer doctors, nurses, healthcare personnel, benefactors, and especially the Servas de Maria Sisters for their dedication and commitment in making this noble mission possible.

🌸 FLORES DE MAYO 2026 CULMINATION CELEBRATED AT RHFI

“Through Mary, to Jesus”

RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI) successfully concluded its Flores de Mayo 2026 celebration on May 29, 2026 at the RHFI Multi-Purpose Hall, bringing together children, youth catechists, families, community leaders, and partners in a joyful gathering of faith, learning, and community spirit.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharistic Mass, reminding everyone that the heart of every Marian devotion is a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ. Inspired by the theme “Through Mary, to Jesus,” participants reflected on the Blessed Mother’s role in leading young people toward a life of faith, prayer, and discipleship.

This year’s Flores de Mayo gathered 93 children, divided into three catechetical groups:

* Beginners (6–7 years old) – 38 children
* Pre-Communicants (8–10 years old) – 39 children
* Post-Communicants (10–12 years old) – 16 children

Guiding them throughout the month were 17 dedicated Youth Catechists, who generously volunteered their time and talents to provide faith formation, prayer instruction, values education, and one-on-one accompaniment.

The culmination program featured inspiring presentations from the three catechetical groups, showcasing what they had learned during the month-long formation. Songs, prayers, reflections, and performances highlighted the children’s growing understanding of their Catholic faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In his Message of Support, Rev. Fr. Albert A. Pellazar, OAR, President of RHFI, congratulated the children and youth catechists for their dedication and emphasized that true catechesis is not only about memorizing prayers but about forming hearts that love God, serve others, and care for creation.

A special highlight of the event was the recognition and awarding of all participants. Through the generosity of RHFI, community partners, homeowners’ officers, FORSOAR members, volunteers, and benefactors, every child received educational supplies including notebooks, writing materials, and school kits to support their continued learning and development. The children also received religious items and tokens that will help nurture their spiritual lives.

The event reflected the collaborative efforts of RHFI, the Homeowners Association, FORSOAR, volunteers, and community leaders who worked together to ensure the success of the program. Their commitment demonstrates that building a strong community begins with investing in the faith formation and education of its youngest members.

Beyond the presentations and awards, the culmination served as a powerful reminder that Flores de Mayo is more than a yearly tradition. It is a ministry that nurtures faith, strengthens families, develops young leaders, and builds a community rooted in Christian values.

As the celebration concluded, participants left with renewed hope and gratitude, inspired by the example of Mary and encouraged to continue their journey of faith long after the month of May.

Through prayer, catechesis, community involvement, and the generous support of many partners, RHFI continues its mission of forming children who are rooted in faith, responsible in character, and committed to becoming instruments of hope for others.

LIGHTING THE WAY WITH HOPE AND SERVICE ✨💡

RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI) wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Ma. Febe F. Legaspi, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, for the installation of three (3) solar street lights that now brighten the dark corners of our community streets.

These solar lights are more than just sources of illumination — they are symbols of safety, hope, and care for our people, especially for children, elderly residents, and families who pass through these areas every day and night.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the UNO-R Property Office for their generous assistance in:
✔ repairing damaged electrical wiring
✔ installing additional lighting
✔ securing our air-conditioning units with protective grills to help prevent theft and ensure the safety of RHFI facilities.

Your support and partnership truly reflect the spirit of community, solidarity, and shared mission in building a safer and brighter environment for everyone.

FLORES DE MAYO 2026 | Faith, Formation, and Hope in Community 🌸🙏

Today, we witnessed once again the beauty of children growing together in faith, friendship, and formation through our ongoing Flores de Mayo Catechetical Program at RHFI.

A total of 93 children participated, guided lovingly by our 17 dedicated Youth Catechists through a more personal and meaningful one-on-one catechesis approach.

The children were grouped according to age and level of faith formation:

🌼 Beginners (6–7 years old) – 38 children
🌼 Pre-Communicants (8–10 years old) – 39 children
🌼 Post-Communicants (10–12 years old) – 16 children

To help deepen learning, each youth catechist was assigned around 5 children for closer guidance in prayers, values formation, and Christian living. Children are also grouped according to their familiarity with basic prayers like Amay Namon and Maghimaya Ka Maria.

Out of the 93 participants:
🏠 30+ are from Ezekiel Extension
🏠 60+ are RHFI beneficiaries

At the end of Flores de Mayo, RHFI together with the Homeowners Officers and KAMP will distribute notebooks, pencils, and ballpens to every child as a simple gesture of encouragement and support for their studies and faith journey.

Today, our Beginners Group received Doodle Earth coloring books. The children had a wonderful time coloring, sharing stories, and reflecting on the beauty of God’s creation and the importance of caring for nature — a beautiful integration of faith and ecological awareness inspired by Laudato Si’.

Indeed, catechesis is not only about learning prayers, but also about forming hearts that love God, care for creation, and serve others with compassion.

Congratulations and thank you to all our Youth Catechists, volunteers, parents, RHFI team, and our dear children for making this ministry alive and meaningful.
