CONNECT TO THE SOURCE
📖”I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
📖 Context:
This verse comes from Jesus’ final teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion (often called the Farewell Discourse, John 13-17). He uses the image of a vine and branches, something familiar in Jewish culture. In the Old Testament, Israel was often described as a vine but one that struggled to bear fruit. Here, Jesus reveals Himself as the true vine, showing that real growth and fruitfulness now come through connection to Him.
🌱 Hebraic Insight:
The idea of “abide” reflects a Hebrew way of thinking like “yashav” (to dwell, remain, sit with). It’s a posture of staying rooted, present, and dependent. Fruit doesn’t come from effort alone, it comes from relationship and connection.
🎨 For Creatives:
Just like a branch doesn’t force fruit, we’re not meant to force inspiration.
When we disconnect, we feel drained, blocked, or lost.
But when we stay connected to the Source, creativity flows naturally.
Pause before you create.
Sit. Reflect. Pray. Listen.
Then create from that place of connection.
