CREATE LIKE A CHILD
📖Psalm 33:3 “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.”

The context:
David wrote this after God showed up for His people. “New song” was their way of saying “God, You did something fresh, so we’re responding fresh.”
“Play skillfully” = musicians were told to practice. Excellence mattered to God.
“Shout of joy” = worship was meant to be fun. God likes it when we’re glad to be with Him.

God is still doing new things. And He’s inviting us to respond with new creativity. Skilled creativity. Joyful creativity.

This week, set aside an hour to create something new for Him & with Him. Freely explore with a child-like faith!

ENDING THE DAY IN GOD’S DELIGHT
📖”The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.” ~Zephaniah 3:17

Zephaniah spoke these words after announcing God’s judgment against Judah because of their rebellion yet this story ends with restoration. The Hebrew word for “quiet” is (yacharish), which means to bring silence, to calm, or to still. God’s answer to His repentant people was that He promised His presence and peace that surpasses all understanding.

To every creative ending the day wondering if you made enough, drew enough, wrote enough, or created enough: before God celebrates what comes from your hands, He delights in the person you are becoming. Your value was never established by your productivity but by His presence. The same God who sings over His people is still shaping your gifts, even on the days when the canvas is blank and the ideas come slowly.

So as the night comes to a close, Rest knowing that you are deeply loved before you produce anything. Tomorrow, create again…not to earn God’s delight, but because you already have it.

GROWING IN THE LORD🌱
📖”Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” ~James 1:4

James wrote these words to believers scattered by persecution who were facing suffering, uncertainty, and the temptation to lose heart. Instead of promising an easier path, he pointed them to God’s purpose in their trials. The word hypomonē, translated as “perseverance,” means steadfast endurance. A faith that remains under pressure without giving up because it trusts that God is at work. James calls believers to let this hypomonē “finish its work,” knowing that God uses seasons of testing to shape us into spiritual maturity, making us “mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

To every creative who feels like you’re not growing, The unseen hours, the unfinished ideas, the projects that seem unnoticed, and the slow progress may be God’s way of cultivating perseverance in you. Keep creating with faithfulness. Let perseverance finish its work, trusting that the Master Creator is forming not only your craft but also your character for His glory.

PUBLIC PLAZA BANDSTAND | BACOLOD CITY
It was built in 1927 through the generosity of Robert William Wagner, an American philanthropist and sugar planter. His name, “R.W. Wagner,” remains engraved on the structure as a lasting reminder of his contribution to the city. Designed in a neoclassical style, the bandstand became the centerpiece of the plaza.
