Calling the objectification of women “just imagination” or “harmless” ignores the real harm it causes and sidelines their safety, dignity, and voices.

When leaders like Rep. Suntay excuse sexism, it sends a dangerous message: disrespect is tolerated and those in power feel entitled to belittle and sexualize women without consequences.

This is not just about words. This is about accountability.

Every right we hold today was fought for by women who refused to stay silent in the face of injustice. Speaking up against objectification is not being overly sensitive. It is about demanding respect, setting boundaries, and continuing the legacy of those who challenged patriarchal norms.

Progress from policies like the Safe Spaces Act to public conversations about harassment exists because people refused to normalize abuse.

Change happens when we refuse to stay quiet, and it is our responsibility to carry that fight forward.🌹🩷

Talent has no price tag, but the gear to showcase it does.

During the Power Run 2026 last February 15, 2026 at BCGC, SocFem Bacolod donated running shoes to young women athletes from Romanito Maravilla Sr. National High School, reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment in sports.💜

Young women athletes continue to compete not only against the clock, but against stereotypes, limited funding, and unequal recognition in a field historically dominated by men.

Studies consistently show that female athletes receive less media coverage and fewer sponsorship opportunities, making their path to national and international competitions more challenging.

SocFem Bacolod believes that while talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not.

The organization hopes that we can in helping bridge that gap by providing the proper gear to match the athletes’ grit, discipline, and determination.

With every stride, these young women prove that Filipina strength is fearless, resilient, and deserving of the spotlight.✨

Please be advised that POWER RUN 2026 scheduled for tomorrow will be POSTPONED to a later date due to Yellow Rainfall Warning by PAGASA.

The decision was made in light of the current condition of the routes, and to the ensure the safety of all runners.
