LIGHTING THE WAY WITH HOPE AND SERVICE ✨💡

RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI) wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Ma. Febe F. Legaspi, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, for the installation of three (3) solar street lights that now brighten the dark corners of our community streets.

These solar lights are more than just sources of illumination — they are symbols of safety, hope, and care for our people, especially for children, elderly residents, and families who pass through these areas every day and night.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the UNO-R Property Office for their generous assistance in:
✔ repairing damaged electrical wiring
✔ installing additional lighting
✔ securing our air-conditioning units with protective grills to help prevent theft and ensure the safety of RHFI facilities.

Your support and partnership truly reflect the spirit of community, solidarity, and shared mission in building a safer and brighter environment for everyone.

Together, we continue to move hearts and transform lives. 💙

FLORES DE MAYO 2026 | Faith, Formation, and Hope in Community 🌸🙏

Today, we witnessed once again the beauty of children growing together in faith, friendship, and formation through our ongoing Flores de Mayo Catechetical Program at RHFI.

A total of 93 children participated, guided lovingly by our 17 dedicated Youth Catechists through a more personal and meaningful one-on-one catechesis approach.

The children were grouped according to age and level of faith formation:

🌼 Beginners (6–7 years old) – 38 children
🌼 Pre-Communicants (8–10 years old) – 39 children
🌼 Post-Communicants (10–12 years old) – 16 children

To help deepen learning, each youth catechist was assigned around 5 children for closer guidance in prayers, values formation, and Christian living. Children are also grouped according to their familiarity with basic prayers like Amay Namon and Maghimaya Ka Maria.

Out of the 93 participants:
🏠 30+ are from Ezekiel Extension
🏠 60+ are RHFI beneficiaries

At the end of Flores de Mayo, RHFI together with the Homeowners Officers and KAMP will distribute notebooks, pencils, and ballpens to every child as a simple gesture of encouragement and support for their studies and faith journey.

Today, our Beginners Group received Doodle Earth coloring books. The children had a wonderful time coloring, sharing stories, and reflecting on the beauty of God’s creation and the importance of caring for nature — a beautiful integration of faith and ecological awareness inspired by Laudato Si’.

Indeed, catechesis is not only about learning prayers, but also about forming hearts that love God, care for creation, and serve others with compassion.

Congratulations and thank you to all our Youth Catechists, volunteers, parents, RHFI team, and our dear children for making this ministry alive and meaningful.

Keep up the good work, kids! 🌿💚
Your smiles and eagerness to learn continue to inspire us all.

A Celebration of Faith, Gratitude, and Motherly Love 💐🙏

On this 5th Sunday of Easter, May 10, 2026, the Christian community gathered in joyful thanksgiving as Rev. Fr. Albert A. Pellazar, OAR presided over the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. During the Mass, special prayers and blessings were offered for all the birthday celebrators of the month of May, asking the Lord to continue guiding them with grace, good health, and abundant blessings.

In a heartfelt tribute for Mother’s Day, all mothers present during the celebration also received a special blessing in recognition of their love, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication to their families. Adding warmth to the occasion, the youth lovingly distributed simple tokens of appreciation to the mothers as a gesture of gratitude and honor for the important role they play in nurturing life and faith within the community.

The celebration became a beautiful reminder that the Eucharist is not only a thanksgiving to God but also a moment to celebrate the gift of family, community, and the silent yet heroic love of mothers. 🙏💐✨

SOFT OPENING | ST. EZEKIEL THRIFT SHOP AT RHFI

Today, we joyfully held the soft opening of the St. Ezekiel Thrift Shop located here at RESOURCE-Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI).

This simple initiative is more than just a thrift shop. It is a small but meaningful step toward sustainability, resourcefulness, and community support. Through affordable pre-loved items, we hope to serve families, encourage wise stewardship, and help support the mission and programs of RHFI.

We also offered a blessing for the shop, praying that this humble endeavor may become a channel of hope and service for many.

For now, the St. Ezekiel Thrift Shop will be open every Saturday only, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

We thank everyone who supported this opening through donations, prayers, and presence. May this little shop continue to grow as a place where generosity meets purpose, and where simple things can make a real difference in the lives of others.

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH | RHFI OUTREACH ACTIVITY

Today, we witnessed once again how a simple act of love can create a lasting impact in the lives of our children. 💛

Through our Child Abuse Prevention Month Program, children of our community not only received meals but were also empowered with knowledge about their rights, protection, and dignity as young persons.

🍽️ During the feeding activity, smiles filled the hall as children joyfully shared meals together—reminding us that care begins with presence, nourishment, and compassion.

🙏 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to:

* DeMolay Philippines (Serafin V. Aguilar Chapter)
* FORSOAR Bacolod, headed by Atty. Erwin Orbicido
* Our dedicated youth volunteers, interns (UNO-R social work students), and partners

for generously sharing their time, resources, and hearts in making this event meaningful and successful.

This initiative is more than a program—it is a mission to remind every child:
👉 You are valued.
👉 You are protected.
👉 You are loved.

Together, let us continue to build a safe, nurturing, and hope-filled community for our children.

With a heavy heart, we share that another incident of theft has occurred in our RHFI community.

An aircon unit from our Grade 1 classroom was taken, adding to previous thefts affecting our water system.

More than the loss of material things, what pains us most is the loss of trust within the community.

We gently remind everyone:
What we build together must also be protected together.

May this be a moment for reflection—for honesty, responsibility, and care for one another.

🙏 “Ang komunidad nga nagahigugmaay kag nagabantay sang isa kag isa amo ang dalan padulong sa kalinong kag paglaum.”

We ask everyone:
👉 Be vigilant
👉 Report suspicious activities
👉 Help protect our shared resources

This is our community. Let us take care of it together. We continue to pray, to act, and to stand together.

Palm Sunday at RHFI Chapel: A Grace-Filled Beginning to Holy Week

This Palm Sunday, the RHFI Chapel community prayerfully gathered to begin the Holy Week celebration with the blessing of palms held outside along the road, reminding everyone of Christ’s humble and triumphant entry into Jerusalem. With palms raised in faith and hearts lifted in prayer, the faithful—together with children, families, and community members—joined in this meaningful opening rite.

After the blessing of palms, the community processed solemnly into the chapel while singing hymns of praise, expressing joy in welcoming the Lord and preparing spiritually for the sacred days ahead. The celebration then continued with the Mass proper inside the chapel, where the faithful were invited not only to remember the Passion of Christ but to enter deeply into its meaning.

In his homily, Fr. Albert challenged everyone to reflect personally on the Gospel of the Passion:

“Today, as we celebrate Palm Sunday, the Gospel invites us to reflect deeply:
• Where am I in this story?
• Am I like the crowd—easily swayed?
• Like Pilate—avoiding responsibility?
• Or like the centurion—recognizing who Jesus truly is?”

He reminded the community that Holy Week is not just about remembering—it is about responding. He emphasized that the Cross is not just an event—it is an invitation:
to love as Christ loved,
to forgive as He forgave,
and to surrender as He surrendered.

Fr. Albert further urged everyone not to remain mere spectators in the mystery of Christ’s suffering and love, but to stand at the foot of the Cross with a willing and grateful heart, praying:

“Lord, You gave everything for me.
Help me to give my life back to You.”

The Palm Sunday celebration at RHFI Chapel became a beautiful witness of faith, unity, and prayerful participation. As the community entered Holy Week, all were reminded that the journey of Christ’s Passion is also the journey of every disciple—a journey of love, sacrifice, mercy, and hope.

May this sacred season continue to deepen our faith and move us to live the Gospel more fully, especially in loving the poor, embracing the suffering, and becoming instruments of Christ’s peace.
