19 Nambaran bacarra NAMBARAN Our barangay was named by merchants. Because the dialect of the merchants is tagalog, the

man cannot understand.

" HISTORY OF THE BARANGAY"

In the late 1890's according to our old, old grandparents our

barangay then was only a small sitio compared to other barangays. And the story goes this

way:

One day, merchants happened to passed in our barangay

(sitio then), they met a man carrying a banana trunk (NAMBAAN in

Ilocano), they asked the man if what is the name of this place or

barangay. He

taught that they are asking if what

is carrying of. He replied "NAMBAAN" (Banana trunk-Pig food) and

that's the beginning they called our barangay,"NAMBARAN".
