Starting the year 2026 with gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to SMA Batch 2005 for generously co-hosting the SMA Alumni Homecoming Celebration last December 29, 2025. Your presence, leadership, and commitment helped set the tone for a meaningful and well-organized gathering that truly reflected the spirit of SMA brotherhood and sisterhood.

Batch 2005’s unwavering support for Batch 2001 was felt in many ways—most especially through your enthusiastic participation in the Batch Raffle and your generous financial contributions. Your willingness to share resources and rally behind a common goal strengthened not just the event, but the bonds among batches.

More than that, we are deeply grateful for your hands-on support in serving as the secretariat team in charge of registration. From welcoming alumni to ensuring a smooth flow of attendees, your dedication and teamwork were vital to the success of the celebration. Thank you, Batch 2005, for your generosity, service, and continuing example of what it means to be SMA alumni. 💙

WHO IS THIS YEAR'S SMA ALUMNI HOMECOMING INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER?

Ailene Bustinera Barbara-Cayaco is currently the Junior Partner at Quial Ginez Racela Beltran and Yu Law Offices based in Makati City.
She graduated as the Salutatorian of Sta. Monica Academy “Ganting” Batch of 2001, and earned her Bachelor of Arts, Major in History, at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2006, where she met the love of her life.

“Ai”, as she is fondly called by her friends and family, then took up Law studies at the San Beda College, now San Beda University, in Mendiola, Manila, getting her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2013. She then passed the 2014 Bar Examinations and subsequently admitted to the Philippine Bar in April 2015. She was also conferred Juris Doctor or Doctor of Laws by the San Beda University in November 2023.

Specializing in litigation, Ai has handled and won several very sensitive and high-profile cases of national interest, taking her to various courts in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Her work has prompted her to appear before the Senate, Sandiganbayan, Court of Tax Appeals, and Court of Appeals, as well as several quasi-judicial bodies related to Labor and Arbitration.

Throughout the years, Ai has done several volunteer works, including her stint with the San Beda Legal Aid Bureau and the Public Attorney’s Office in Iriga City. She also briefly joined as a pro-bono, on-air legal consultant for a DZRH national radio program.

Ai is a certified Hufflepuff, as well as a proven foodie and Disney park afficionado. She is married to a Filipino diplomat, Anthon, and a proud fur mom to Chester the Maltese.

SMA Batch 2001 celebrated an early Christmas Party with the La Consolacion College Baao, Inc. family and its 74 family-beneficiaries last December 17, 2025. This event is part of a series of activities conducted by SMA Batch 2001 as host of the 2025 Grand Alumni Homecoming 2025. Main event is on December 29, 2025! See all of you then!

SMA Batch 2001 proudly joined the Gift-Giving Day organized by La Consolacion College Baao, Inc. on December 17, 2025. This meaningful collaboration brought the spirit of Christmas to life through the Pamaskong Handog program, extending joy and generosity to 75 family-beneficiaries.

Ms Gio Britanico Brabante, represented Batch 2001 during the activity, and in her message she highlighted the Monican virtue of selflessness and service to others.
