Congratulations Villorente Family! ๐๐คฉ
READ | Home is Where the Board Is ๐ โ๏ธ
We have always been told that every family has a tradition that brings them together.
For the Villorentes of Pandan, Antique, it begins with 64 squares, 32 pieces, and a shared love for the game of chessโa passion that has shaped not only their skills but also the bond they carry beyond the board.
What started as friendly games at home gradually became a journey of discipline, perseverance, and support for one another. Each match became a lesson, each moveโan embodiment of the values they learned together as a family.
At the Boracay Chess Crew Tournament, those years of dedication paid off. Family patriarch Jerome Villorente and Jem Villorente each claimed 1st Runner-up, while Jom Villorente secured 2nd Runner-up, and eldest sibling Hans Lee Villorente finished among the Top 15.
For the Villorentes, every trophy is more than a reward for playing well; it is a reminder that the strongest moves are made together.
Long after the final checkmate is called, their greatest victory remains the family they have builtโone game, one lesson, and one shared dream at a time.
And just like the Villorentes, perhaps home is not found only within the four walls of a house. Sometimes, it is a mere chessboard and its pieces that one can consider a place of solace.
