Fuel prices are rising again — and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is starting to affect global oil supply and the Philippine economy.

For Filipino commuters, drivers, delivery riders, and families, every peso matters when filling up the tank.

That’s why we built something new for the community.

Introducing Fuel Watch — now live on ProjectLIGTAS.

Fuel Watch helps Filipinos quickly find the cheapest, nearest, and safest gas stations in Metro Manila in real time, so you can save money and plan smarter during uncertain fuel price movements.

Here’s what you can do with Fuel Watch:

Interactive Map
See gas stations around you on a live map, color-coded by brand so you can easily spot Shell, Petron, Caltex, Phoenix, and more.

Smart Filters
Filter by fuel brand, fuel type (Regular, Unleaded, Diesel, Premium), and city to find the exact station you need.

Near Me Search
Instantly locate nearby stations ranked by price, distance, and reliability.

Flood Mode
Because this is ProjectLIGTAS — you can toggle Flood Mode to avoid flooded areas and locate passable stations during heavy rains and typhoon season.

Freshness Indicators
Know if a fuel price was updated hours ago or days ago, so you don’t rely on outdated data.

Crowdsourced Reports
If you spot a new price at the pump, you can report it and help the community keep fuel data accurate.

We’re starting with 230+ stations across Metro Manila and expanding quickly as more users contribute updates.

Fuel Watch is part of our mission to turn ProjectLIGTAS into a real-time disaster and commuter intelligence platform for the Philippines.

🌪️ EYES HERE PLEASE!!! ✅
STORM PREP CHECKLIST (LUZON) for the upcoming Typhoon Ulan ☔

Let’s all stay ready and safe — here’s your easy-to-follow guide 💪

🏠 HOME SAFETY
✅ Keep all windows and doors closed during the storm.
💡 Prepare rugs, mops, and wear rubber shoes (para iwas madulas — learned my lesson last time 😅).
✅ Use masking or duct tape in a crisscross pattern on windows to reduce breakage.
✅ Check gaps and doors for water entry — seal with rags or trapal.
✅ Clear drainage around your house to avoid backflow.
✅ Secure outdoor items — plants, chairs, basins, etc.
✅ Move valuables like appliances, electronics, and files to higher spots.
✅ Leave only stainless or metal items on the floor if needed.

📄 IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
✅ Keep birth certs, IDs, titles, contracts, and passports safe.
✅ Double plastic or use ziplocks to prevent water damage.
✅ Store them in a grab-and-go bag for quick evacuation.

🔥 FOOD & WATER
✅ Portable stove + extra butane.
✅ Stock up on canned goods and no-cook meals.
✅ Cook rice ahead (add 1 tbsp vinegar so it doesn’t spoil fast).
✅ Put tissue under the rice cover to reduce moisture.
✅ Drinking water good for 2–3 days minimum.
✅ Fill buckets, pails, and bathtubs with water for bathing, flushing, and cleaning.

🔋 POWER & GADGETS
✅ Charge EVERYTHING — phones, powerbanks, fans, tablets, laptops.
✅ If you can, invest in a backup power source (EcoFlow or similar).
✅ Check flashlights + keep extra batteries.
✅ Prepare candles and lighters (use carefully).
✅ Load data in case WiFi goes down.

🚗 CAR & PARKING
✅ Park in a safe, elevated area (condo parking or high ground).
✅ Avoid flood-prone streets and low-lying roads.

🧳 PERSONAL & EMERGENCY ITEMS
✅ Prepare 5 sets of clothes, towels, and blankets.
✅ Have a first aid kit (alcohol, band-aids, meds, betadine).
✅ Bring your tent or travel chair if relocation is needed.
✅ Wear long sleeves and pajamas if evacuating.
✅ Keep floaters or salbabida if you live in a flood-prone area.
✅ Small go-bag with essentials — ready anytime.

📢 FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS (especially if may work)
✅ Stay in the same safe area — far from rivers, creeks, or “sapa.”
✅ Safety first! It’s better to miss work than risk your life.
💬 “Money can be earned again, but life can’t be replaced.”
✅ Exchange phone numbers with family/friends.
✅ Plan 2–3 meeting points in case your first location becomes inaccessible.

🧩 OTHER ESSENTIALS
🔸 Stock medicines (maintenance meds, pain relievers, antihistamines).
🔸 Cash on hand (ATMs might go offline).
🔸 Whistle for emergencies.
🔸 Charged power extensions.
🔸 Plastic bags for waterproofing.
🔸 Tools: scissors, tape, rope.
🔸 Written emergency contacts.
🔸 Pet supplies (food, leash, water, carrier).
🔸 Gas up your car early!

✅ REMEMBER: Stay alert, stay calm, and look out for your family and neighbors.
We’re stronger when we’re prepared 💪🇵🇭

Tropical Storm "Ramil"
Issued at 05:00 am, 19 October 2025
(Valid for broadcast until the next advisory to be issued at 8:00 AM today)

“RAMIL” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AND IS NOW OVER THE COASTAL WATERS OF ALABAT, QUEZON

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS
Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Refer to Weather Advisory No. 9 issued at 5:00 AM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to RAMIL.

Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.
Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the localities where Wind Signal No. 2 is hoisted
Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
Furthermore, the trough and outer rainbands of RAMIL and the easterlies will also bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas not under Wind Signal (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
Today: Cagayan Valley, Oriental Mindoro, Masbate, Caluya Islands, Samar, Eastern Samar, and Biliran
Tomorrow (20 October): Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
Coastal Inundation
There is a minimal to moderate risk of storm surge with peak heights of 1.0 to 2.0 m within 36 hours over the low-lying or exposed coastal localities of Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, and Masbate. Refer to Storm Surge Warning No. 8 issued at 2:00 AM today for the details.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
Gale Warning is in effect over the eastern and western seaboards of Luzon. Refer to Gale Warning No. 4 issued at 5:00 AM today.
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Isabela, Aurora, Camarines Norte, and Polillo Islands; the western seaboards of Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Batangas; the northwestern seaboard of Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island
Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 3.5 m: The northern seaboards of Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes; the northern seaboards of mainland Quezon; the eastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan
Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes; the remaining seaboards of mainland Cagayan and Babuyan Islands; the seaboards of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur; the eastern seaboards of Albay and Sorsogon
Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 2.5 m: The seaboard of La Union; and the remaining seaboards of Pangasinan and Quezon.
Up to 2.0 m: The seaboard of Marinduque; the remaining seaboards of Bicol Region; the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar.
Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall, severe winds, and storm surge may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
On the forecast track, RAMIL will continue moving west northwestward or northwestward as it makes landfall over the vicinity of Quezon Province this morning. After making landfall, it will traverse the Southern-Central Luzon landmass before emerging over the coastal waters of Pangasinan or Zambales this afternoon or evening. It will then continue moving generally northwestward until it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow (20 October) morning or noon.
During its passage over the landmass, RAMIL is expected to maintain its strength or slightly weaken due to frictional effects of mountainous terrain. Once over the West Philippine Sea, further re-intensification is highly likely, with RAMIL expected to reach severe tropical storm category while outside the PAR Region.
