𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭?

Have you heard those lines before in Roblox, specifically Adopt Me? But have you also heard that Toucans’ beak is not that heavy? It's very light and soft and filled with small air holes that makes it strong yet easy to move! 🦜

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐤? 😓

Base on Paradise Yakari: Their beak helps their body to regulate heat, allowing the bird to dissipate heat in the hot tropical environment. By adjusting blood flow to their beak, toucans can regulate their body temperature efficiently.

Meaning, their beaks aren't just for display! 👀 It also helps them to keep their body temperature in a regular state. 😮

𝐈𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨!

A Toucan could use its massive, powerful beak to crush aluminum cans flat, so they take up less space in the recycling bin! ✨

We should always remember: two cans, and many more aluminum cans damage Toucans’ environment—the tropical rainforests. So recycling aluminum cans can help us prevent damage and protect them.

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

For many years, horse fighting has been one of the most persistent forms of illegal animal fighting in the Philippines, especially in parts of Mindanao. This is a massive step back for us. What is meant to be solely for entertainment has been violating animals’ freedom and welfare.

𝗦𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲?

Based on Republic Act No. 8485, also known as the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, animal fighting that causes suffering is prohibited, and should never be normalized.

𝗬𝗲𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲?

There were no boxers fighting for victory; there were no horses racing. There were stallions kicking and biting each other for the bets of people who paid to watch, forcing animals into human entertainment.

𝗕𝘂𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲?

It still happens in parts of Mindanao under the name of “tradition.” But calling animal cruelty “tradition” does not hide the fact that 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 still 𝘤𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘵𝘺.

As the official Environmental Organization of Antipolo National High School, we are saddened to hear that despite the existence of laws and Republic Acts, some people continue to set them aside. We are 𝘴𝘢𝘥, but at the same time, we are 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺.

𝐓𝚰𝐍𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐖𝐒, 𝐁𝚰𝐆 𝐃𝚰𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘: 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝚰𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐘𝐎 𝐂𝐀𝐓! 🐆🐾

Say hello to 𝘓𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘤𝘢𝘺𝘰, or the 𝘛𝘪𝘭𝘤𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘵, a newly identified wild cat species discovered in the cloud forests of Bolivia! 🇧🇴 Measuring only around 𝟰𝟲 𝗰𝗺 long and weighing about 𝟭.𝟰 𝗸𝗴, this little feline is smaller than most house cats—but its unique light-brown coat with irregular rosette patterns makes it truly stand out. 🐱✨

Scientists identified the Tilcayo as a distinct species through genetic research involving cats from different parts of South America. Its lineage is estimated to have separated from other tiger cats around 𝟭.𝟰 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, meaning this tiny cat has a surprisingly ancient story! 🤯🐾

The discovery of the Tilcayo reminds us that there is still so much of nature left to explore and understand. However, its forest home faces threats from deforestation, fires, agriculture, and mining. 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒔 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒊𝒍𝒄𝒂𝒚𝒐 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆. 🐆
