Gamit ang siyensya at teknolohiya, isinusulong ng Dynaslope Project ang empowerment at resilience ng mga komunidad at LGUs! 💪 Sa gabay ng UNDRR framework, patuloy itong nag-iinnovate ng end-to-end EWS-L para sa people-centered early warning systems.

Narito ang key elements ng end-to-end EWS-L ng Dynaslope Project:
💡 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲: Pagsasagawa ng risk assessments upang maunawaan ang panganib ng landslide sa mga komunidad.
💡 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Mayroong 24/7 landslide monitoring operations kung saan involved ang communities-at-risk sa pag-ulat ng lagay ng panahon at pag-obserba ng mga landslide features.
💡 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Informed ang communities-at-risk sa napapanahong early warning information sa paggamit ng epektibo at appropriate na mga communication channels.
💡 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Mayroong pag-evaluate at mga pagsasanay para sa kahandaan ng community sa banta ng landslide.

Naisasagawa rin ang multistakeholder activities tulad ng:
📌 Planning para sa epektibong pamamahala at kalakarang institusyonal.
📌 Paggamit ng multi-hazard coordination strategy.
📌 Paglahok ng lokal na komunidad, marginalized, at vulnerable groups sa capacity building, organizational development, at IEC development.

Tuwing nagkakaroon ng mga , ibinabalita ang kaugnay na magnitude at intensity nito na kadalasang napagbabaligad. Ano nga ba ang kaibahan nila?

Ang MAGNITUDE ay tumutukoy po sa 𝗮𝗸𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮 ng isang lindol mula sa pinanggalingan nito (focus). Ito ay nasusukat ng ating mga siyentista sa kanilang mga instrumento na tinatawag na seismometer.

SCITECH | When the Ground Remembers: The Big One Awaits

It’s not a matter of if, but when the ground will remind us.

For decades, scientists have warned of a looming disaster. A magnitude 7.2 earthquake along the West Valley Fault, a 100-kilometer fault line slicing through the heart of Metro Manila. Commonly referred to as The Big One, this potential quake could become one of the most devastating natural events in Philippine history, reshaping not just landscapes, but lives.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the West Valley Fault has a recurrence interval of 400 to 600 years. The last major movement occurred around 1658, which means the fault is due for another significant shift anytime soon.

When it happens, PHIVOLCS estimates the earthquake could reach a magnitude of 7.2, causing widespread structural damage, massive power and water outages, and leaving over 30,000 people dead and 100,000 others injured within the capital region alone. This projection, published in the Metro Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study (MMEIRS) paints a grim but necessary picture. One that demands immediate action rather than fear.

At ikatlo at pang-apat ang magkasunod na 7.4 at 6.9 sa , . Inaalam pa kung aftershock ang 6.9 na lindol kani-kanina lamang.

Nasa RING OF FIRE ang ating bansa at normal ang magkaroon ng lindol. Walang sinuman ang makakaalam ang eksaktong oras at lakas ng lindol, kaya’t mag-ingat.

Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Laguna(Cavinti, Luisiana, Majayjay, Lumban, Kalayaan, Paete, Pakil, Pangil, Siniloan, Famy, Santa Maria, Mabitac, Pagsanjan, Magdalena, Santa Cruz, Pila, Victoria, Nagcarlan, Liliw, Rizal, San Pablo, Calauan, Bay, Alaminos, Los Banos) and Batangas(Lipa, Santo Tomas, San Juan, Rosario, Padre Garcia, Taysan, Lobo, Ibaan) within the next 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in Quezon(Mauban, Tayabas, Pagbilao, Lucena) and Rizal(Tanay, Antipolo, San Mateo, Baras, Morong, Teresa) which may persist within 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.

UPDATE: Posibleng maging ganap na bagyo ang isang Low Pressure Area (LPA) sa silangan ng Taiwan sa susunod na 1-2 araw, ayon sa DOST-PAGASA.

Kikilos ito pa-kanluran at posibleng tumbukin ang Taiwan at Southern Japan sa mga susunod na araw. Hindi naman inaasahang tatama sa bansa ang nasabing bagyo.
