STR REGIONAL KID/KAB SAYAHAN STAFF MEETING--
CALAMBA CITY — The Southern Tagalog Region (STR), headed by Regional Director John C. Pangilinan, convened the KID/KAB Sayahan Organizing Meeting on August 14, 2026, at Calamba Central Elementary School in preparation for the upcoming Regional KID/KAB Sayahan scheduled on October 24–25, 2026.
The meeting was facilitated by Regional Commissioners for KID and KAB Scouting, SL Felma R. Cayas and SL Myra T. Bruno, who led the discussions on the activities and overall program implementation for the regional event.
The Calamba City Council, headed by Scouter Paul Ryan De Leon, Calamba City Council Scout Executive and Scouter Doods De Guzman, Council Chairman of Calamba City Council, serves as this year's host for the KID KAB Sayahan.
Utilizing the Base-Method, experiential outdoor activities for KID and KAB Scouts were developed under the age-appropriate themes for KID Scouts (Kinder), Young Usa (Grade 1), Growing Usa (Grade 2), and Leaping Usa (Grade 3). Each participating council was assigned specific activities to facilitate during the regional gathering.
Alongside the KID/KAB activities, the Calamba City Council will facilitate this year’s Singing KID and That’s My KAB competitions. During the meeting, several Scout Leaders proposed opening the Singing KID competition to female KID Scouts. Following deliberation, Director Pangilinan approved the participation of female KID Scouts in Singing KID, marking another milestone in STR’s continuing efforts to make KID Scouting more inclusive and accessible to Scouts of all genders.
The timely decision further reinforces the region’s commitment to developing programs that provide equal opportunities for young Scouts to participate, perform, and grow within the Scouting Movement.
After the meeting, the STR KID/KAB Sayahan Staff have their ocular inspection at Calamba City Coliseum. This is very helpful in planning and strategizing the conduct of activities.
Being youth-partners of the Antipolo City Council in implementing its Scout activities and programs, the Antipolo City Eagle Scout Servant-Leaders (ACCESS), as represented by ES Kevin B. Arabis, ACCESS Deputy for Administration, took part in the conduct of STR Regional KID KAB Staff Meeting.
