The journey tells the inspiring story of Solar Hope’s transformative journey with the Dumagat community of Laiban, Tanay, Rizal. What began as a simple mission to bring light to unelectrified homes evolved into a movement that illuminated lives, created opportunities, and empowered an entire community.

Through the power of solar energy, families gained more than just electricity—they gained hope, safety, and the ability to dream beyond the limitations of darkness. The film highlights how access to clean and sustainable light transformed daily life and opened new doors for learning and development.

At its heart, Tanglawan sa Laiban shines a light on the children of the community, whose futures were brightened through improved access to education and technology. As solar power bridged the gap between isolation and opportunity, it helped ensure that no child was left behind in an increasingly digital world. More than a story about renewable energy, this is a story of resilience, empowerment, and the lasting impact of bringing light where it is needed most.

With the 2nd year of partnership with Art Meets Education (AME), we are grateful to continue supporting 20 students by providing their essential school needs. Part of the support to AME scholars are bags, shoes, uniform, raincoat, umbrella, socks and school supplies. We also spend time to build relationships and get to know the scholars, their parents, teachers and community.

Together, we will journey hand in hand until these students proudly earn their high school diplomas.

TURN-OVER CEREMONY OF BELOY KANLUNGAN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Brgy. Mamuyao, Tanay, Rizal (June 23, 2026)

“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished… it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” – Denzel Washington

On June 23, 2026, Solar Hope together with Sikat Foundation and First Balfour visited Beloy Kanlungan for the official turn-over ceremony of its improvement project. Beloy Kanlungan was the initiative of Teacher Aisa Jadulco, one of the teachers of Mamuyao Elementary School. It came with the heart to help the youth and adults of Sitio Tala wherein they need to walk for almost 2-3 hours just for them to study and do their daily needs in the community.

Beloy Kanlungan became their shelter not only for the youth but also for the families and adults who are working. With this, the aim of the improvement project was to expand the location with new Comfort Rooms, new Wash Area and most especially, the solar energy for them to have electricity in the location. They were able to utilize the use of electricity by charging their cellphones, use of the ceiling lights and others.

It is truly a blessing and privilege to reach out to our fellow brethren in Brgy. Mamuyao, Tanay, Rizal.
