"The State recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism and nationalism; and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs." Republic Act 8044

The Youth in Nation-Building Act

An act creating the National Youth Commission, establish

ing a National Comprehensive and Coordinated Program on Youth Development, Appropriating Funds Therefore, and for Other Purposes. Definition of terms - For purposes of this Act, the following terms are hereby defined :
(a) "Youth" shall refer to those persons whose ages range from fifteen (15) to thirty (30) years old;

(b) "Youth Organizations" shall refer to those organizations whose membership/composition are youth;

(c) " Youth Serving Organizations " shall refer to those registered organizations or institutions whose principal programs, projects and activities are youth-oriented and youth-related; and

(d) " Commission " shall refer to the National Youth Commission. Speaker of the House of Representatives
