๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | SUMULONG COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES Reserve Officer Training Corps proudly held the ๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ข๐ก๐ฌ ๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ 1 ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ 13-2026 ๐๐ก๐ ๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐ก ๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ข๐ก๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐ก๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐ข๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ก๐๐ฆ ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง ๐ข๐๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ on 17 July 2026 at the SUMULONG COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES GYMNASIUM, with the theme โEmpowered to Lead, Guided to Serve.โ The donning of ranks symbolized the trust, responsibility, and honor bestowed upon the newly-ranked cadet officers, signifying their readiness to lead with integrity and discipline. Witnessed by mentors, fellow cadets, and supporters, the ceremony marked an important milestone in their journey as leaders.
A warm and cheerful welcome remarks was delivered by 2LT DINDO L SANBUENAVENTURA (RES) PA Tactical Officer SCAS ROTCU, setting a positive tone for the program and inspiring both cadet officers and MS-1 cadets/cadattes to embrace the challenges ahead with confidence.
The event also formally opened the Military Science1, a program designed to train and prepare for greater responsibility through rigorous discipline, leadership development. As highlighted in the inspirational message of our Guest of honor and speaker COL MELGEVAL B HILAO INF (GSC) PA, true empowerment lies not in authority alone, but in the willingness to serve and guide others.
The program was further highlighted by a warm speech from PCOL. EMMANUEL C TABUENA (Ret), RCRIM, DPA, NSTP Coordinator of Sumulong College of Arts and Sciencs. Subsequently, an inspiring and motivating message was delivered by Nerrisa Europa, Dean of Academic Affair.
Through this ceremony, both the newly-ranked officers and the MS-1 Cadets were reminded of their shared missionโto uphold the values of leadership, service, and commitment. Indeed, the theme โEmpowered to Lead, Guided to Serveโ reflects the Corpsโ dedication to forming leaders who will inspire, guide, and serve with honor.
Eventually, the first training week ended with positive results.
