Tagolwanen Women Weavers Association (TWWA), founded in 2012 by Lorielinda Bella Rago Marte and Datu Anilaw Inlantong, revived the dying Tagolwanen sodsod mat-weaving tradition in Mt. Kitanglad, Malaybalay. From a handful of weavers, it grew into a thriving women-led enterprise recognized as the town’s OTOP (One Town, One Product). Supported by local, national, and international partners, TWWA built a weaving heritage center and cultivates sodsod through communal farming. Profits are shared annually among members. The mats, rich in cultural symbolism and inspired by nature, have gained national and international recognition, fostering pride, environmental stewardship, and a new generation of award-winning weavers.

For the past two years, the Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) Cebu Women’s Committee has backed Tingub Community and Urban Poor Homeowners Association, Inc. (TICUPHAI) in Mandaue City to create school bags, wallets, accessories, and sandals from recyclable materials. What began as a seasonal project supplying JPIC-run daycare centers has grown—partnering with DAK AY Construction Company to produce eco-friendly window coverings and securing a ₱350,000 grant from a foreign funder. This boost is transforming their once-limited venture into a sustainable, year-round income source for the community.

Born in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Tatalon Nanay Power (TNP) emerged when mothers in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City, united to distribute food and medical relief after official support faltered. By 2023, they had formalized with 400 members and have since been recognized as the Barangay’s Best Women’s Organization for three consecutive years—proof that solidarity can turn hardship into lasting community empowerment.
