In celebration of ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐๐, we proudly feature ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐. ๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ โ a distinguished cultural worker, choreographer, educator, and advocate dedicated to preserving and promoting Kapampangan heritage through the transformative power of the arts.
As the founder Bale-Balayan and artistic director of ๐๐ข๐ง๐ฎ๐ค๐ฐ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ (๐๐ข๐๐๐ฉ), De Vera has devoted his life to nurturing Filipino culture while empowering aspiring and underprivileged youth through free dance trainings, artistic immersions, and cultural engagements. Through SiKap, hundreds of young artists have been given opportunities to broaden their horizons and pursue education through scholarships and grants from both public and private sectors.
Beyond the community, De Vera also served as the deputized Vice Head of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts โ National Committee on Dance (NCCA-NCD), where he helped craft programs promoting local artistry through dance. A member of the World Dance Alliance (WDA), he has represented Kapampangan artistry in conferences and cultural festivals across Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, the United States, and beyond. He likewise served as a dance director and moderator in various Pampanga institutions, including Angeles University Foundation, Holy Angel University, St. Scholasticaโs Academy, and the University of the Assumption.
Through his unwavering commitment to cultural preservation, community outreach, and performing arts, De Vera continues to keep Kapampangan traditions alive for present and future generations. His invaluable contributions to culture and the arts have earned him numerous recognitions, including the ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ค๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ค ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐๐๐) ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ, the ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ or โ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ ๐โ from the Local Government of Angeles, the ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ from the Provincial Government of Pampanga, and the ๐๐๐๐
๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ for Best Dance Production for Panata at Panalangin. In 2022, he was further honored with the prestigious first-ever ๐๐ข๐ฒ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) โ a testament to his enduring impact as an artist, cultural worker, and champion of Filipino heritage.
