Pay the Wage's first post dates back to December 7, 2023. Since then, we have been dedicated to amplifying the voices of public school teachers and advocating for a raise in salary. As the time frame for our Advokasi project is ending soon, we would like to ask you a few questions to measure the effectiveness of our page. This will help us improve our advocacy. Let us continue advocating for our teachers!

Did you know? In the Philippines, the student-to-teacher ratio is high, implying that a large number of students are assigned to each teacher. Unfortunately, this is one of the many factors contributing to low teacher salaries. With larger class sizes, teachers have to handle increased workloads, which can lead to stress and burnout. This, in turn, affects their performance and ultimately impacts the quality of education provided to students. As there is a large number of students and public schools are often overcrowded, the government may prioritize hiring more teachers in an attempt to follow the ideal student-teacher ratio than allocating funds for salary increases.

Empower Educators, Elevate Education!

We are Pay the Wage, a youth-led organization that advocates salary increases for public school teachers in the Philippines. The guidance and knowledge imparted by teachers shape the futures of individuals and society as a whole. They play a crucial role in shaping minds and paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for future generations. And yet, they are underpaid.

It is time to raise our voices for our educators!
