Representatives from the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Pampanga (HARP) met with the Angeles City Tourism Office and the City Legal Office as part of the ongoing efforts of the Angeles City Government to assist businesses affected by the recent building collapse incident in the city.

The dialogue focused on providing guidance and support to hotel and hospitality establishments within the affected area, addressing concerns related to business operations, and identifying measures that may help lessen the impact of the incident on affected establishments, employees, and stakeholders.

Earlier, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II directed the Angeles City Tourism Office, through the Angeles City Tourist Information and Visitors Engagement (ACTIVE) team, to immediately assess the condition and welfare of business establishments operating within the affected vicinity. The initiative forms part of the city’s broader response to ensure that affected businesses receive the necessary assistance and remain informed of available support.

Through continued collaboration with HARP and other stakeholders, the Angeles City Government remains committed to protecting livelihoods, supporting local enterprises, and promoting the welfare of workers, business owners, visitors, and the wider Angeleño community.

Stepping into new horizons for Philippine tourism and hospitality.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of representing the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines Pampanga Chapter (HARRP) at the General Membership Meeting held at Newport World Resorts.

With the inspiring theme, “Synergized Horizons: Strengthening Philippine Tourism and Hospitality through Multi-sectoral Connectivity and ASEAN 2026 Leadership,” the event gathered tourism and hospitality leaders from across the country to discuss collaborative strategies that will further elevate the Philippines as a premier destination in the ASEAN region.

We were honored to join the newly appointed Secretary of the Department of Tourism, Dita Angara-Mathay, along with key tourism stakeholders and industry partners from all over the Philippines.

Representing HARRP were:

Fatima Orfinada, HARRP President
Cesar Reyes, HARRP Vice President for Hotels
Mitch Otsuru Park, HARRP Vice President for Restaurant
R-Jay Payawal, HARRP Vice President for Allied

This gathering reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, innovation, and strong partnerships in driving sustainable tourism growth and preparing the Philippines for a more connected and competitive future in ASEAN.

Together, we move forward with one vision: a stronger, more resilient, and globally competitive Philippine tourism and hospitality industry.
