MACCII Breakfast Club Highlights: Essential Updates for Our Business Community!

We are committed to keeping our workforce and local businesses informed! During the recent MACCII Breakfast Club Meeting, key representatives from PhilHealth, SSS, and Pag-IBIG Fund shared major program updates and enhancements designed to provide better security, healthcare, and housing benefits for everyone.

Here is a quick summary of what was presented:

1. PhilHealth: Comprehensive Care closer to you
Presented by Ma. Imelda A. Lugtu, PhilHealth highlighted enhanced outpatient and preventive care:

PhilHealth YAKAP: Universal primary care offering free check-ups, diagnostics, and up to 75 outpatient medicines via registered accredited clinics.

Expanded Cancer Screening: New benefit packages now cover critical early screening procedures (including Mammograms, Breast Ultrasounds, and Low-Dose Chest CT Scans) for high-risk patients.

2. SSS: Stronger Social Protections & Faster Loan Access

Presented by Rafael Carlo C. Alingod (Junior Analyst) and Sigfred M. Manuel (Acting CEO II, MSS), SSS rolled out updates on financial relief and improved member loan conditions:

Pension Reform (Circular No. 2026-002): A structured, annual percentage-based pension increase being rolled out over a 3-year period (2025–2027) for retirees, disability, and survivorship beneficiaries.

Enhanced Loan Programs: The Pension Loan Program (PLP) maximum limit has been increased to ₱300,000, while the Emergency Loan Program (ELP) contribution requirement has been cut from 36 to just 18 months for quicker accessibility.

3. Pag-IBIG Fund: High Returns & Affordable Homeownership

Presented by Mervin M. Pereda, Pag-IBIG shared historic financial milestones and flexible financing options:

Strong Savings Dividends: A proud milestone of returning billions to members with competitive 2025 dividend rates of 6.62% for Regular Savings and 7.12% for MP2.

Flexible Property Solutions: Loans up to ₱6 Million with a 30-year payment term, the Home Equity Appreciation Loan (HEAL) for active borrowers, and heavily subsidized interest rates through the national 4PH Housing Program for low-to-middle income earners.

This is to inform all consumers of Angeles Electric Corporation (AEC) that on 08 April 2026, AEC filed an Application before the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), entitled “In the Matter of the Application for Confirmation of True-Up Calculation of Pass-Through Cost Adjustments Implemented for the Period from January 2023 to December 2025, docketed as ERC Case No. 2026-014 CF.
The reason for filing the said Application is to seek the ERC’s approval of AEC’s true-up calculation of pass-through cost adjustments implemented for the period from January 2023 to December 2025.
To those who want to attend the scheduled virtual hearing in relation to the above-captioned case, please be guided by the date, online platform, and activities.

DATE & TIME : 03 June 2026 (Wednesday), at nine o’clock in the morning (9:00 A.M)

PLATFORM: Microsoft Teams

ACTIVITY: Determination of Compliance with Jurisdictional Requirements, Expository and Pre-Trial Conference

It was a productive and informative afternoon as President Elizabeth Carlos Timbol met with Regional Director Edna Dizon of DTI Region 3.

The discussion focused on strategic ways our MSMEs can fully maximize the programs and resources offered by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). We are committed to ensuring our local businesses have every tool they need to thrive.

Key Highlights:

𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭: We took a deep dive into support systems for the MACCII Young Entrepreneurial Students from the City College of Angeles. Our goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world business success through DTI’s mentorship and startup initiatives.

𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬: Something big is brewing! We discussed an upcoming project designed to significantly elevate the presence of our local MSMEs in the e-commerce space. While we have to keep the details under wraps for just a little longer, stay tuned for an initiative that will take our local products to the digital forefront.

Together with DTI, we are building a more competitive, digital-ready, and inclusive business community for Metro Angeles!
