DAY 2 | S.T.R.I.K.E.R.S ⚡
April 17, 2026

The second day of the "𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝐏𝐘𝐀𝐏) 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐲𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩" continued the discussions led by the MDRRMO and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Alangalang in the morning. Later in the afternoon, the participants' knowledge were enriched even more with discussions led by the Bureau of Fire Protection of Alangalang, Leyte and 𝑴𝒓. 𝑱𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑵𝒊ñ𝒐 𝑺𝒂𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒂. These sessions were designed to inculcate a deep sense of care and responsibility for the environment, equip participants to become fire safety vanguards and tactical rescuers, and foster a spirit of leadership among the youth of Alangalang 🌱🧯🧠⛑️.

The activities conducted during the day were celebrated with a budol fight in the evening. This was glamorously followed by the 𝐏𝐘𝐀𝐏 𝐆𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐏𝐘𝐀𝐏 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 where representatives from each of the five clusters showed their incredible talent, beauty, and wit. The program kicked off with a warm welcome message from the Social Work Field Instructor and agency supervisor, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒓 𝑩. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒂, 𝑹𝑺𝑾, 𝑴𝑷𝑨. The social work interns closely collborated with the PYAP Officers in facilitating the successful conduct of the program. As for the placers and winner of the PYAP Got Talent as well as the crowned PYAP Ambassador and Ambassadress, they were handed the prestigious title by the social work interns' very own school and agency supervisors, respectfully, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒚𝒏 𝑨. 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂, 𝑹𝑺𝑾 and Mr. Peralta. And just when you thought the night was over, the program was followed by a fun Youth Night (Disco)🪩💃🕺.

We, the social work interns at Barangay San Antonio Farm, wish to express our sincere appreciation for the dedication and hard work that contributed to the success of this event. Our thanks go to the guest speakers, PYAP Officers of Alangalang, Leyte, and the participating youth. We also acknowledge the Municipal Social Welfare Office, headed by Ma'am Marilyn A. Superada, RSW, and Sir Lizer B. Peralta, RSW, MPA. A special thank you to the Barangay Council and SK Council of Brgy. San Antonio Farm for their steadfast support of our youth. DAY 1 | S.T.R.I.K.E.R.S ⛺️

On April 16, 2026, the youth of Barangay San Antonio Farm (Cluster 3), proudly joined 35 other barangays for the opening of the "Pagasa Youth Association of the Phillipines Alangalang Leyte Chapter Summer Youth Camp".

The first day of the camp focused on empowerment and community resilience, featuring essential discussions led by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the MDRRMO, and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Alangalang. These sessions were designed to provide the participants with essential life skills, foster a spirit of leadership, and cultivate a deeper sense of social responsibility and community involvement among the youth of Alangalang.

The day transitioned into a vibrant celebration of heritage during the Cultural Night Competition, where five clusters showcased diverse traditional dances. Our very own two youth representatives from San Antonio Farm took the stage with pride, contributing to a spectacular display of local culture. The evening concluded with a powerful and inspiring message from the Municipal Mayor of Alangalang, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐮-𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨💐, who emphasized the vital role of the youth in nation-building.

This activity was facilitated and assisted through the dedicated assistance of the LNU Social Work Interns, reflecting a continued commitment to supporting youth development and inclusive community engagement.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the guest speakers, PYAP Officers of Alangalang, Leyte, the participating youth, SK Officials, Municipal Social Welfare Office headed by Ma'am Marilyn A. Superada, RSW, and to Sir Lizer B. Peralta, RSW, MPA for making the commencement of this summer camp a resounding success.🎉

On April 11, 2026, the residents of Barangay San Antonio Farm—particularly from the youth and women sectors—gathered at the Covered Court for an insightful orientation entitled “𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐡𝐨: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.”

The session was led by 𝑴𝒓. 𝑪𝒊𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑹𝒆𝒙 𝑨. 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝑰𝑰𝑰, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer of PESO Alangalang, who shared valuable insights on career pathways, employment opportunities, and current labor market trends. The activity aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their future careers and employment prospects.

Through this orientation, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the importance of career planning, skills development, and staying informed about labor market demands—empowering them to become more competitive and job-ready individuals.

This initiative was successfully facilitated through the collaboration of the LNU Social Work Interns and the Barangay Council of San Antonio Farm, under the dedicated guidance of 𝑴𝒓. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒓 𝑩. 🌿 “𝓑𝓲𝓷𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓘𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓪𝓷, 𝓚𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓴𝓪𝓼𝓪𝓷𝓰 𝓜𝓪𝓪𝓪𝓼𝓪𝓱𝓪𝓷!”

The Social Work Interns of Barangay San Antonio Farm proudly facilitated the launch of “𝙻𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝚗𝚊 𝙱𝚞𝚗𝚐𝚜𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚗: 𝙰 𝙲𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝙶𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚗 𝙸𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎” across two areas of the barangay—the Proper and Sitio Bunga. This initiative promotes improved gardening practices, environmental stewardship, and strengthened community collaboration.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 𝙾𝚏𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙼𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚙𝚊𝚕 𝙰𝚐𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚎 (𝙾𝙼𝙰) – 𝙰𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚐, in coordination with 𝙼𝚛. 𝙲𝚎𝚜𝚊𝚛 D. A seminar titled “𝓞𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷: 𝓝𝓸 𝓑𝓪𝓼𝓾𝓻𝓪! 𝓐 𝓒𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓾𝓷𝓲𝓽𝔂 𝓢𝓮𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓻 𝓸𝓷 𝓦𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓷𝓪𝓰𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓔𝓷𝓿𝓲𝓻𝓸𝓷𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓪𝓵 𝓡𝓮𝓼𝓹𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂” was successfully conducted in Barangay San Antonio Farm, Alangalang, Leyte.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on proper waste management and address the growing concern of improper waste disposal within the community. It equipped participants with essential knowledge on waste segregation, proper disposal, and the practice of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Through insightful discussions, 𝓜𝓼. 𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓷 𝓖. 𝓢𝓾𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓭𝓪, 𝓣𝓸𝓾𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓶 𝓞𝓯𝓯𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓻 𝓸𝓯 𝓜𝓔𝓝𝓡𝓞, emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility and the collective role of the community in protecting natural resources.

Awareness was strengthened, responsibility was encouraged, and unity was fostered among participants. In this shared space of learning, the call for discipline and action became more than a reminder—it became a commitment to build a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community.

On April 10, 2026, the residents and leaders of Barangay San Antonio Farm actively participated in an informative session highlighting the Programs and Services of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Recognizing the importance of accessible social services, this activity aimed to raise awareness about the various programs available for individuals, families, and vulnerable sectors in the community. It emphasized the vital role of MSWDO in promoting social protection, empowerment, and inclusive development for all.

Through this discussion, participants gained a clearer understanding of how to access essential services and support systems—from assistance programs to community-based initiatives—reinforcing the idea that government services are within reach and meant to uplift every sector of society.

This initiative was successfully facilitated through the collaboration of the LNU Social Work Interns and the Barangay Council of San Antonio Farm, under the dedicated guidance of 𝑴𝒓. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒓 𝑩. 𝐀 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬

The Social Work Interns assigned to Barangay San Antonio Farm facilitated the conduct of the Barangay Assembly for the first semester of Calendar Year 2026. Held at the Barangay’s Covered Court at Proper on March 29, 2026, the assembly carried the theme “𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐨 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐲𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧.” It served as a vital platform to address community concerns, highlight accomplishments, and present future plans and projects.

Barangay Chairperson, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐚. 𝐄𝐝𝐧𝐚 𝐌. 𝐀𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧, delivered her State of the Barangay Address (SOBA), then discussed Compliance with National Laws and Issuances. This was followed by committee reports presented by the members of the Sangguniang Barangay of San Antonio Farm.

𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐋. 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧, the Barangay’s SK Chairperson, delivered his report highlighting the activities and projects implemented over the past year, along with those accomplished so far this year. He also presented the budget utilization for each initiative, providing an account of how resources were allocated and spent

The event concluded successfully, underscoring the importance of active participation in barangay affairs and reaffirming the community’s commitment to collective progress.

Supporting science in the field! 📝🥼

Our team of social work interns had the opportunity to assist and facilitate during the "Elucidating the Endemicity and Transmission Dynamics of Taeniasis and Cysticercosis" activity here in Brgy. San Antonio Farm Alangalang, Leyte.

The main act was led by the brilliant Mr. Raffy Jay C. Fornillos, MSc UP Diliman (Institute of Biology), whose expertise—alongside the guidance of the DOH—is paving the way for better health outcomes on our community. The program provided the community with free stool examinations and blood extractions, a huge win for local health awareness. Our team of social work interns was happy to play a supporting role in the organization and logistics of this impactful event. 🩺

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 💜

In celebration of Women’s Month, a seminar titled “Kilal-a an Imo mga Katungod, Paginhatagan hin Gahum” was successfully conducted in Barangay San Antonio Farm, Alangalang, Leyte.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on women’s rights and equip participants with knowledge on key laws protecting women and children, particularly the 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑨𝒄𝒕 (𝑹𝑨 11313) 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒊-𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕 (𝑹𝑨 9262). Through insightful discussions, 𝐏𝐌𝐒𝐆 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 discussed the Safe Spaces Act, highlighting protection against gender-based sexual harassment, while 𝐏𝐂𝐌𝐒 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐌. 𝐋𝐢𝐫𝐚 tackled RA 9262, emphasizing the different forms of abuse and the importance of seeking help and protection.

Stories were shared, voices were heard, and strength was found in one another. In this space of empowerment and solidarity, the pinning of the purple ribbon became more than a simple act—it symbolized courage, awareness, and a united stand to end violence against women and children.” 💜

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the LNU Social Work Interns, together with the 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 (𝑩𝑳𝑮𝑼), led by 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑬𝒅𝒏𝒂 𝑴. 𝑨𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒏, Barangay Chairperson, under the guidance of 𝑴𝒓. 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒓 𝑩. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒂, 𝑹𝑺𝑾, 𝑴𝑷𝑨, and 𝑴𝒔. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒚𝒏 𝑨. 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂, 𝑹𝑺𝑾.
