In the wake of the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that affected communities across Mindanao, several student organizations came together with one shared purposeβto provide immediate assistance and hope to families in need.
From the initial planning meetings, fundraising efforts, and donation drives to the purchasing, packing, transportation, and distribution of relief goods, every step of this mission was carried out through the collective efforts of SAGIP, SSLG, Ang Mamamahayag, and The Scribblers. What began as an idea to help soon became a united movement driven by compassion, teamwork, and service.
On June 12, 2026, representatives from the participating organizations worked together to purchase and prepare essential relief supplies using the donations entrusted to us by our generous donors. Every item was carefully selected and packed to ensure that assistance would directly address the immediate needs of affected families.
On June 13, 2026, members of all organizations stood side by side as they traveled to Purok 5, Malapatan, Sarangani Province to personally deliver the relief assistance. The operation was more than a distribution of goodsβit was a demonstration of solidarity, proving that when communities unite, hope can reach even those facing the most difficult circumstances.
This initiative reflects the power of collaboration. No single organization carried this mission alone. From planning to implementation, every volunteer, student leader, donor, and supporter played a vital role in making this relief operation possible. Together, we shared responsibilities, overcame challenges, and worked toward one common goal: serving those affected by the earthquake.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this cause, thank you for standing with us. Your generosity helped provide not only essential supplies but also comfort, encouragement, and reassurance to families recovering from disaster.
As we continue our mission of service, SAGIP and its partner organizations remain committed to responding to community needs and extending help wherever it is needed most.
Together, we planned. Together, we served. Together, we delivered hope.
