📸 IN PHOTOS | Strengthening Disaster Preparedness through Partnership
The Office of Extension Services of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Ajuy Campus, in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Barangay Badiangan, Ajuy, Iloilo, successfully supported Badiangan Elementary School in the conduct of a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training and Simulation Drill on January 16, 2026.
The activity was led by Prof. Johnny L. Cristobal, MBA, Campus Director for Extension Services, NISU Ajuy Campus, with the support of the Extension Services staff. Active participation and facilitation were provided by the Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanod, and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Barangay Badiangan, ensuring the effective implementation of the training and drill.
The program formally opened with a Welcome Message delivered by Mrs. Jane Rose M. Caya, Teacher-in-Charge and Chairperson of the School DRRM Committee. This was followed by inspirational messages from Mrs. Rubelyn Ayuyon, PTA President, and Hon. Vioven A. Ayuyon, Barangay Captain of Barangay Badiangan, who underscored the importance of disaster preparedness, school safety, and strong community collaboration.
The activity concluded with a Closing Message from Mrs. Angelica D. Zabala, Faculty Member of Badiangan Elementary School, who expressed her sincere appreciation to all partner institutions, facilitators, and participants for their support and commitment to building a safer and more resilient school community.
This collaborative initiative underscores NISU Ajuy Campus’ continued commitment to community extension services, disaster preparedness, and the promotion of resilient schools and communities through strong partnerships and shared responsibility.
