Building partnerships for climate-smart rice farming in Central Luzon.

The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), in partnership with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), recently launched the Enhanced Dry Direct-Seeded Rice (eDDSR) Project—bringing together research institutions, government agencies, and technical partners to advance climate-resilient rice production.

Funded by the Department of Agriculture–DA National Rice Program through the DA - Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), the project will develop science-based scaling strategies, produce an eDDSR suitability map for Central Luzon, strengthen the capacity of local stakeholders, and co-create policy recommendations to support wider adoption of climate-smart rice farming.
