The IP Leaders Quarterly Meeting, led by the LGU and OMA, highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening a rights-based maternal and child health system in Abra de Ilogโ€”ensuring that no mother or child is left behind.

With Heart to Heart Foundation as a development partner, key initiatives were reinforced to improve access to essential health services, especially for women in remote communities:

โœ” Strengthened support systems through transportation and meal assistance
โœ” Promotion of the Halfway House as a safe pre-delivery facility
โœ”๏ธ Improving facility-based delivery services at Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital (AMH), a recognized Mangyan-Friendly Hospital
โœ” Compliance with at least 8 antenatal care (ANC) visits
โœ” Pilot implementation of the IP Lane for faster and more respectful services
โœ” Timely birth registration to secure every childโ€™s identity and rights

A successful coordination meeting was held, attended by the Chief of Hospital, Municipal Health Officer, and dedicated medical staff. The discussion centered on the ongoing projects of the Heart to Heart Foundation, particularly the enhancement of prenatal and postnatal services.

Through collaboration and shared efforts, we aim to ensure that every mother receives the care she deservesโ€”from pregnancy to postnatal recoveryโ€”promoting healthier families and a stronger community.

We successfully conducted a School-Based Rights Promotion Education at Pambuhan Elementary School, reaching a total of 167 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6. This meaningful activity aimed to strengthen awareness and appreciation of childrenโ€™s rights, with a special focus on promoting and protecting the rights of Mangyan children.

Through engaging discussions and interactive learning, our learners were encouraged to understand their rights, respect others, and become active participants in building a safe and inclusive community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated resource speakers from MSWDO and LYDO for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our learners. Your commitment truly made this activity impactful and memorable.

Our sincerest thanks also go to the Head Teacher and Teachers of Pambuhan Elementary School for their full cooperation and support, ensuring a smooth and successful implementation of the activity. ๐Ÿ’™

December 09, 2025 | We successfully held our Annual Project Review Meeting together with our valued partners from KOICA, Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital, the Local Government Unit of Abra de Ilog, MHO, MSWDO, OMA, DepEd, and our Barangay Captains. Throughout the discussion, we revisited the core mission of our project "Promoting Mangyan Rights through the Strengthening of Maternal and Child Health in Abra de Ilog"

We discussed milestones that shaped this year improved health awareness, strengthened support for pregnant mothers, expanded engagement with Mangyan fathers, and stronger advocacy for child protection and Mangyan rights.

We are truly thankful for the unity and dedication of our partners who continue to stand with us in championing the well-being and dignity of every Mangyan family.

๐ŸŒฟ A Meaningful and Inspiring Experience with the KOICA Team! ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ’™

Together with KOICA, our team visited the community of Latag for the Nutrition Advanced Activity (Feeding Program). The journey wasnโ€™t easy โ€” we hiked through rocky and uphill mountain paths to reach the area โ€” but every step was worth it as we met the dedicated BHWs and beneficiaries who are part of the program. We also conducted short interviews to learn more about their experiences and how the feeding activity helps improve their health and well-being.

The next day, we joined KOICA in visiting the Halfway House at Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital and the Office of Mangyan Affairs (OMA). Discussions focused on the support already provided by the Heart to Heart Foundation and on exploring more ways to continue helping the hospital and the Mangyan communities.

It was truly a productive and heartwarming experience โ€” filled with teamwork, compassion, and the shared mission of uplifting lives. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ
