We've joined the Generation of Change!
Members of the Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry (YPOMCCI) recently signed a pledge to stand against all forms of violence in their homes, work places and community.
This was inline with an impactful networking event hosted with the PNG's Nambawan Brewer, SP Brewery Ltd (SPB), highlighting its community initiative, 'Join the Generation of Change.'
This is aimed at tackling domestic violence across PNG.
The event brought together our members and young professionals from industry to engage in meaningful discussions on creating safer communities.
It also held significance as it was hosted on the week of International Women's Day(IWD). With our awesome female executive committee team members, Ms Tynniel Tongiakina, Ms Alison Geno, Ms Shannie Huambi and Ms Wendy Tambagle leading preparations and the evening's programme. Thank you, Team!😊
“Partnering with the Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry for this event is a meaningful step forward for the campaign. Engaging young Papua New Guineans is critical to driving lasting change, and YPOMCCI provides a strong platform to start these conversations and encourage more people to join the Generation of Change,” said Mr Kitione Amet- Senior Brand Manager, SP Brewery.
Guests had the opportunity to hear firsthand about SPB’s commitment to social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to drive awareness, education, and action against domestic violence.
“We believe that change starts here, through our local initiatives, our neighbourhood and our homes. YPOMCCI supports SPB's the Join the Generation of Change- No excuse for domestic violence campaign. Our vision is to develop the next generation of business and civic leaders for a circular econonmy and empower young leaders to advocate for safety in their homes and communities. We hope everyone took away the evening's msg of responsible consumption and of being responsible citizens," said Ms Wendy Tambagle- YPOMCCI's Legal Advisor.
Through initiatives like this, YPOMCCI continues to foster responsible leadership, community engagement, and meaningful partnerships that make a real difference in Papua New Guinea.
We acknowledge SP Brewery and NOK for prizes and event support, Jack's of PNG for wardrobe support and Mr Troy Luku of Aesthetic PNG for photography support.
