The Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry (YPOMCCI) is a sub-committee of the POMCCI

YPOMCCI x Deloitte PNG | Informative Session 🌍

The Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry (YPOMCCI) was proud to host another successful Informative Session in partnership with Deloitte PNG.

It brought together our members and other industry professionals for an evening of learning, networking and professional development.

Protecting Your Future with Life Insurance

Recently, we hosted an informative session on one important aspect of our professional journeys and careers: life insurance.

This was made possible through the support of BSP Life as major sponsor.

BSP Life walked us through what life insurance is, its importance and the product options they have available that are suitable for individuals.

"BSP Life offers two products: the Wantok Delite and the Wantok Sumatin life insurance cover. Wantok Delite is ideal for adults and young professionals while Wantok Sumatin can cover for both adults and children as young as five years old," said Mr Robin Ani- BSP Life Business Relationship Manager.

A life insurance cover is sold as a policy. A policy includes the coverage amount (e.g. K15,000) which you, as policy holder, invests in. Life Insurance is a long-term investment over a certain period of time. Insurers will often ask for you to choose a beneficiary whether it is your children, spouse or parents. That beneficiary will receive the funds if you pass away under certain conditions. BSP Life is the only insurer in PNG offering living benefits or survival benefits in additional to death benefits. This simply means there are other benefits, such as cash returns on your policies that you will receive during the term of your policy (e.g. 15 years).

As the evening progressed, we were also given a reminder on the importance of wellness and fitness in the workplace as BSP Life also support physical wellbeing.

Mentorship Session # 2: Sir Michael Bromley- Builder of the PNG Economy

It's not everyday you get to sit down with a retired PNG business leader.

Sir Mike Bromley's contribution in building the PNG economy spans 50years in the shipping, aviation, retail, property, and investment industries.

And some of our members got to share a moment. This is our second Coffee-with-the-Boss!

Sir Mike said to be practical. Save up, make informed decisions on life and always have the end in sight.
