As the KUN Women Association Inc. in Sirunki marks International Women’s Day, our members have reflected on how we can better support women and girls of all ages by embracing the spirit of "Giving to Gain" every day. This year’s theme encourages generosity and collaboration—a powerful approach that creates opportunities and strengthens support for the women in our communities.

Our theme is "Sisterly Togetherness." We have cherished and supported those most in need, and we remain committed to our motto to serve.

We appreciate the KUN Women Association Inc. of Surunki for commemorating International Women's Day and for its ongoing and unwavering dedication to our community.💯🙏

🗳️🔥 “PNG’s Elections Are Facing a Deep Integrity Crisis.” 🔥🗳️

According to Sam Koim, Papua New Guinea’s electoral system is in serious trouble — and it’s not just politics… it’s the foundation of our democracy 🇵🇬

After finishing second in the Dei by-election, Koim didn’t hold back. He says election integrity is not a “small administrative issue” — it’s the pillar that holds up every law and policy in this country.

“If the system is weak… every law that follows rests on shaky ground.”

He raised serious concerns:

⚠️ Polling booths allegedly controlled by a few individuals

⚠️ Ballot papers marked in bulk

⚠️ Ghost names still sitting on the common roll

⚠️ Massive post-election court battles

And here’s the big one 💰

PNG could spend K500–K600 MILLION of public money for the 2027 General Election. Add candidate spending, and we’re looking at a billion-kina election economy every five years 😳

Yet between 87–95% of seats from 2012–2022 ended up in court.

That means disputes.
That means tension.
That means communities divided.

Koim says the human cost is real — property damage, conflict, even lives lost.

His solution?
🔐 Biometric voter verification
🖥️ Automated voting & tabulation
📊 Transparent audit trails voters can verify

One person. One vote. Once.

The big question now…

If we can spend a billion kina on elections, why can’t we fix the system? 🤔🇵🇬
