What Is the Green Climate Fund Results-Based Payment Programme? 🌳🌿

The is an international fund that helps developing countries respond to climate change.

One of its tools is the Results-Based Payment Programme. This programme rewards countries that can prove they have reduced carbon emissions — especially from deforestation.

Papua New Guinea has large forests that store carbon and support communities. When the country showed verified reductions in forest-related emissions, it qualified to receive funding.

The Government of PNG leads the work through the Climate Change and Development Authority. The Food and Agriculture Organization provides technical support to help with reporting systems, safeguards, and implementation.

What does this mean for people?

It means funding can now support:
