Scripture Sunday:

You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly... You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops.

Thank you and farewell👋

We farewell and thank Fraser McLennan, who has been in our PNG programme for 4 months, and in contact with our UK team for onboarding/training for 9 months working as an Aircraft Maintenance and Design Engineering intern.

Fraser, from the UK and New Zealand, has decided to work with MAF in PNG to put his engineering skills to positive use, creating a strong humanitarian impact.

As Fraser returns to UK, he will continue his studies in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bath and have practical engineering experience to aid his studies in engineering theory.

"I will miss the kindness of the MAF staff and everyone," he said. "And to see the impact MAF has on the isolated communities to bring help, hope, and healing."😊

Peanut growers in Karimui have being bringing their produce to sell at Goroka through MAF planes. We are flying to and from several airstrips in the Karimui district. Farmers use the income to pay for children's school needs, clothing, soap, oil and salt.

Meet this farmer named Bos, and hear about his story as a peanut farmer.✨.

On 26 May 2026, our pilot Ricky Poki completed his first solo flight in Papua New Guinea.🎉

He joined the MAF team in PNG late last year after completing his pilot training at the MAF Training Centre in Mareeba, Australia.

Today, he flew solo from Balimo in the Western Province to Mount Hagen, a significant milestone in Ricky's journey.

Based in Balimo, Ricky will continue to serve the people scattered across isolated communities in the Western Province and the rest of PNG.

Let us all congratulate Ricky on this achievement!👏

Last night Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade did something special. At the Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea, they signed to extend the Church Partnership Programme (CPP).

Our Country Director Dom Sant was there to join the special event, meeting many church leaders for the first time.

Through CPP Australia, churches are supported in enhancing their capacity to provide essential health and education services, particularly in remote regions. They also engage in a wide range of activities promoting gender equality, social inclusion, peace and prosperity and disaster risk reduction.

MAF is looking forward to the opportunity to work more closely with the mainline churches in PNG to bring more help, hope and healing to more isolated communities.

Thank you and farewell!👋

We take this time to say thank you to the Paas family for their service with us here in Papua New Guinea.

Arjan has served as a pilot here with his family for almost seven years. Back in the Netherlands, when Arjan was just a little boy, God gave him the desire to become a MAF pilot. This desire grew and was confirmed multiple times, until he realised the dream and now serves God as a pilot.

Arjan and Aartje Paas pursued a future with MAF. They now have five lovely children who have served and lived and grown up in PNG, Liberia and Arnhem Land with MAF.

The family are looking forward to a new chapter in their family life in Australia as Arjan looks forward to a new MAF role✨.

“We love the hospitality of the PNG people,” said Arjan. “We still feel very welcome. We will miss the people, the incredibly beautiful scenery, the mountains and the perfect climate and weather in Goroka!”

Thank you Paas family for your service in PNG and may the good Lord walk with you🙏.
