Primary focus of the NGO is to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development that is community based. Major programme areas include training of trainers to empower their respective communities to initiate programs that are aimed at poverty alleviation. Programs promoted are based on local knowledge and
development aspirations of local communities. The target audience for training include the churches, NGOs and resource based development groups throughout PNG; Melanesia and the Pacific Island Nations. OBJECTIVES
To provide economic incentives to rural communities through insect ranching as part of the biodiversity research and conservation effort in PNG
Promote and coordinate honey production and marketing as a suppository income generating activity for the existing small-
scale coffee growers within the respective Local Level Government. (LLG)
Promotion of community forestry by reforesting the surrounding grassland hills and ravines as part of the long-term regional development effort. Introduction and cultivation of Noni Fruit (Morianda Citrifolia) as a new and additional cash crop for the respective community and the LLG. To promote good governance among the LLG by working together to bring about Infrastructural development facilities much more closer to the community as an attempt to promote sound and favourable business climate to the electorate and the province. Promoting community leadership and sharing of experiences among project partners. Bringing NGO (PNGEI) experiences, in appropriate research and action linked development activities to respective LLGs, local communities and provincial government through partnership in regional development that addresses national and global concerns.
