Supporting Local Farmers: A Sustainable Future for ENBP

Poultry farming is emerging as a valuable alternative income source alongside our traditional primary crops here in ENBP. Led by the PACD, in which we are proud to be a key partner, this initiative has already assisted 100 poultry farmers through the provision of DOCs (Day-Old Chicks), feed, and support with harvesting, processing, and marketing.

Though we are starting small, our goal is to establish a sustainable value chain that benefits our farmers long-term. We are also working on certifying our processing facilities to ensure quality and safety, while making these facilities affordable and accessible to the very farmers who produce their poultry.

Join us at the Growers Haus to support our local farmers and boost local business. Together, we can build a resilient and thriving agricultural community. Support local, buy local — because when we invest in our farmers, we all grow stronger!

Another good afternoon to all cocoa farmers and cocoa enthusiast alike..
As part of our efforts to promote proper quality planting material during this peak in cocoa prices and peak in demand for planting material we are building yet another nursery that will be accompanied by a budwood garden which we plan to get certified by CCB PNG once operational..

We must promote sourcing of proper planting material from proper nurseries to ensure quality start right from the planting stage right through to quality dry bean production. Just telling farmer this is not good enough.. we must play our part to make these avenues become available too them also..

This particular nursery is located in the kokopo - bitapaka Area.. It will be cleaned up an completed within the next week and preped with seeded polybags to be ready for budding in 3 months and ready for distribution in the next 6 months..

For farmers in the Gazelle area we do have an associated nursery managed by the tagitagi #1 - cocoa cooperative that has planting material available... we also have a cocoa nursery in Rakanada - Duke of York Islands (for Doy Island Farmers) that's preping its nursery for supply in the next 6 months aswell.

Farmers need help.. we need to provide that help where we can.
