is co-resident with La Misión, Ica, , which is a church/mission destination (since 2009, open 2013) servicing this needy community. As the newest YWAM/JuCUM base in Perú (as of 2018) please welcome us here and our new webpage YWAMica.org !! Founded by Latin American Missions Association (LAMAministry.org) we have been active in this area since 2009, and open as a mission since October

2013. (We have a quite active presence as " Facebook.com/LAMAlaMision " and Facebook.com/LAMAministry as well). We serve in rural geography made up of about 5 different villages of mostly farm worker families. We worked with the civil authorities in 2015 to accomplish a census which showed we had over 1000 unchurched children (ages 2-12) in walking distance. We also estimate that we have at least 3-400 teenagers that have little supervision when not in school. Add to this number the village of San Juan Bautista (short shuttle ride south) which the mayor asked our help with, and we have over 2,000 total children from 2 through teen that are in need of spiritual nurturing, as well as their families. Our primary focus is to work with these children and young adults in any way possible. Secondarily, we are focused on families, counseling, helping where possible, providing a safe environment for teens, after school study, recreation, sports and more. We are also interested in building a reliable construction ministry that can help many of these families with their dwellings which were damaged severely in 2007 during an 8.0 earthquake. Some of these homes look like the earthquake was just last week. That program will depend strongly on visiting missionary teams with a construction leaning and desire. HISTORY - Prior to joining YWAM (2018), we opened as a mission in 2013, with both a church service and children's ministry. Completing the first building (3 floors) in 2015 we had a fantastic missionary family move in to operate. Two great years of ministry and growth we experienced. In 2017 we finished building a second building with a childrens center and staff bedroom area. As of 2018, we have new staff on board who shared our love of YWAM/JuCUM. We are very much interested in growing more. We are building staff!! If your heart is in ministering to children, we certainly have them! Different than many bases that usually start with staff and then build as they minister, we have the facilities and ministry and NEED the staff!! if construction, operations or agriculture is your interest, check us out. If you would like to teach music, English, the bible, discipleship, singing, or more; if you play an instrument or sing, we have a Sunday church service and daily bible study that we would welcome you in. if you like working with teenagers, please join us as we need you!!! For the younger children we also need a Kings Kid leadership! We surprised YWAM by holding our first DTS (DIscipleship Training School) in 2019. We are currently in our fourth DTS (Jan-May 2024). If you are DTS / EDE trained, bilingual in both English and Spanish, even if conversational only, we would love to have you consider being part of staff as we grow this new location. [English only? you may not yet feel you have mastered spanish, but there is no better 'emersion' place to do so!!]

We are about 14 kilometers north of the city of Ica, just far enough that there are no churches nearby so we run our own. Yet, in YWAM fashion, we are open to encouraging the planting of churches in this area, with plans in place to help. We love visiting churches in Ica and look forward to working with any churches that would like us to. If you are construction oriented, we are looking for a base staff person to head up this ministry as well (Homes of Hope). If your church likes to do construction ministry, please talk to us , as we need you!! Our plans are to work within YWAM/JuCUM to attract teams to work with such an individual or group on doing home building and repair projects. We are most interested in growing this base and our heart is primarily aimed at helping the immediate community (which includes about 6 villages). Time and staff allowing, we have quite a number of churches in Ica area (well beyond the immediate villages) that also would love assistance from YWAMers. Although 2 years old, in 2020 we had our 'Covid year', and it had a lot of memories ... we call it the Year of Cory, and if you follow him from the beginningto the end, you will see why. A great year of memories, although we didn't do a DTS, and a lot of events and visits cancelled, we adjusted and got a lot done. Thank you Lord.

In your year-end giving, please remember our ministry, the children, youth and needy that we support. We could not do this without your giving. We maintain a food pantry, have completed two new homes for the needy this year, provide many families needed clothing and school suppllies, aid to elderly and much more. Your giving makes all this possible.

2018 La Misión Ica, joins JuCUM/ YWAM as Perú’s 7th base in 2018

As the newest YWAM / JuCUM (as of 7/31/2018) base in Perú, please welcome us! Founded by Latin American Missions Association (LAMA) we have been open as a mission since October 2013. We have a quite active presence as “La Misión” and as the founding (LAMA) Ministry on Facebook.

We serve in a rural geography made up of about 5 different villages of mostly farm worker families.
