We made it back to the states! (hints our lack of online updates🤦🏼‍♂️)
Last week we did Champ Camp and hosted Pastor Gilmar and his family from Peru. They were able to visit Emmanuel with us and Santiago went each day to camp with Judah! Scotty shared about missions each day with the students. Our family looks forward to this week all year long!

Prayer requests for our church here in town. It is still a very young church. The believers are first generation believers and have had very little discipleship. There is still much work to be done in the church but we believe God has plans to do much work through this church as well!

🚨Update from the Villages🚨
Hey guys we have made a few trips to our villages way up river. We are seeing some small amounts of fruit among the people there. We couldn’t do it without your prayers and support! Thanks a ton!

👇Below are some details from our work in the villages.

✅Edwar is the guy we have been discipling him and his wife for the last 6 or so months. He is doing great and continues to walk with the Lord now that he moved back to the village.

✅We continue to gather small groups of unbelievers in the villages to study God’s Word and share the good news with them.

✅Finishing up some details on the airstrip. An insane amount of hard work has gone into getting it strait and flat. Thankfully multiple villages are working together.

✅Two of the Mission pilots flew out and spent the night in the village with us to help with the runway. They also brought Ashton who is one of Judah’s best friends so the two of them had a great time hanging out.

✅One of our key villages is electing a new Chief this week. While I was there I was able to share with a large group of the men why it is important to elect a chief that is open to the things of God and not one that only seeks power. If the chief is a God fearing man the whole village will benefit.

It’s Election Day here in Peru! This picture just don’t do it justice as to how many people are in town to vote! In Peru, it is a requirement to vote or you have to pay a fine. That means that everyone from all 48 villages came to town to vote. It gets PACKED when you go from a town of 2000 to a town with close to 5000 inhabitants in a couple of days!

In addition to being required to vote, it’s illegal to sell alcohol today, so that people may make coherent decisions. But unfortunately, it also illegal to hold meetings of any kind today (including church). It’s all a little mind blowing for us Americans!

The main point of this election is to elect a new president. Peru has had about 10 presidents in the last 10 years. Although they are elected to a 5 year term, most of them have been extremely corrupt and are quickly voted out by Congress. Today, there are 35 people on the ballot. They will take the two who receive the most votes and then have another election on June 7th.

Please pray for Peru as they strive to find a secure and trustworthy leader.

‼️Answered Prayers in the Jungle‼️
When five men from our church didn’t return from their hunting trip after four days, everyone knew it was time to do something. Yesterday morning, a small search party and I (Scotty) headed deep into a part of the jungle I had never been before.
By God’s provision we were able to find the hunters. A massive tree had fallen across the creek, trapping their boat. They were exhausted, but as you can imagine, their spirits soared when they saw the pot of soup Jadison had packed for us!
After seeing them safely on their way back to their families, we stayed out late into the night to finish the hunt. We returned home waterlogged after eight hours of straight rain, but with a boat full of meat and, most importantly, everyone accounted for. Thankful for your constant prayers especially in these unpredictable moments!

Last week was a big week! We were able to open the airstrip in Gasta Balla. After almost a year of hard work re-leveling and re-clearing the air strip we landed in the largest of the Sharanahua villages. It’s the first time in over 25 years an airplane has been there! This takes a 12 hour boat ride for us to get there and turns it into a 10 minute flight. Pray this is used for the people to have better access to much needed resources but most of all they would have better access to the Gospel of our risen Savior!
